Congratulations to Keir Starmer and the Labour Party. They've won a democratic General Election  fairly and squarely.

That's what democracy is about.

Congratulations to Sally Jameson in Donny Central.
A lovely working class woman from Donny, now our MP who I’m proud to call my friend.
So so pleased for her.

This is going to be rough.

They'll now bend every rule possible to hold onto power. Including drastically lowering the voting age.

The only reason Rodney won was because the Conservatives threw it away, they completely changed and simply weren't Conservative anymore.

It wasn't because they wanted labour, it was because they didn't want a Conservative party that was no longer Conservative.

It will be the shortest honeymoon on record for him and he'll probably not last the full term.

No, but then what I've said is still completely correct.

BST has said for years that the party in power loses the election, not that the opposition win and this shows it , they are nearly in 3rd place , people have voted anyone but them.  The incoming party have a hell of a job, given the global issues as well as domestic and no one should expect roses for all in first five minutes. What im hoping for is a feeling that grown ups are in charge and the light at the end of the tunnel is no longer an oncoming train.

I just hope for my children and grandchildren that I'm wrong.

At least you, your children (and at some point your grandchildren) can have a say in future elections should Labour not be successful.

Funny though, those of us who expressed concerns about the future after brexit, were told “shut up you lost”.

I hope those of us who wanted a change of government are magnanimous enough not to repeat the same mantra now at Tory/Reform voters.

All I will add is that we can’t expect labour’s changes to take effect overnight.

Now we can go back to looking forward to the new football season!

Agree with you there and Starmer has said 'an end to performance politics' which I agree with wholeheartedly and have frequently suggested politics should be off the front page.
