Nope. My thought process was right again, trying to surround one word with another but didn't realise I would need to find synonyms for both. No doubt "red fruit" is quite a common clue for today's answer but I was stumped, thinking more of different berries, cherries, red apples etc.

Got this after a little thought. No hints or clues.

Took the hint. I'd been thinking along the right lines again but was struggling as I was looking at the wrong end of the clue for the definition. Got it straight away when I took the hint.

Is it Minute (Minnit) Cryptic or Minute (My newt) Cryptic?

Annoyed myself with this today. Once again I kind of spotted what the word play was asking me to do but I convinced myself that it wanted me to take the last letters of "fidelity" so was looking for something with "ty" in there. I got fed up and guessed a four letter flower which was completely wrong then it gave me the first letter and it became very clear where I'd slipped up in my thinking.
I think I'm getting a bit better at developing the thought process required but keep getting it almost right but a long way wrong if that makes sense!

Got this on second guess. Could only have been three options really.
Flower girl were enough clues. Don’t know what the rest of it was all about.

Flower was the clue, the solution was the last letters of the next four words.

I see Mike. Didn’t look beyond flower girl really.
It had to be Rose, iris or Lily.

Took some thinking but I got it in one today. Really pleased that I completely understood the logic in play.
