Got it (eventually) with no help. Went through several opposite words before the aha moment.

Got it after "it" gave me 4 letters.

I then had my aha moment. Par 3 not very good

Had a go. No idea what was happening. Maybe if I a) Read the rules and b) Read the rules whilst not hungover, things may become clearer.

They say the best games have the simplest rules. I defy anyone to look at the rules of this game and say are straightforward.
Anyway, I got it, and -2 too.

Don't think so . BB put a link on a few days ago

I downloaded and saved it from that and don't think it's NYT.

Got it on second guess, but not sure what part of the clue is about.

Edit
Just realised what the other bit is about.

Took the hint and got it, but still got -2. Don't you lose a stroke/point for taking a hint?

Got ir. 2 under par. No idea why it's the correct answer though lol. Not sure this quiz is aimed at my feeble brain.

Got it 2nd go but it was a complete anagram of my first guess which I thought was right !

I'm going to assume we both had the same guess on the anagram. I played it with a degree of confidence first go and was disappointed to be wrong. I then couldn't think of the answer and ended up taking a few hints to finish one over par. Kicked myself when I realised I was on the right track all along!

EDIT: And now it jumps out at me, I was trying to be too clever with my anagraming, it was right there in front of me!
