Good luck to him. What an opportunity, nobody deserves it more. Hell of a gig for your first coaching job, one of the top academies in the world.

If he does get the job we may be in a good place for a decent loan player or two down the line.

Hopefully more Federico Macheda (first spell) than Reece Brown…

Man Utd mate reckons he's got the job. He'd never heard of him. I put him right!

BobG

Update: Man U mate changed his story. On trial at the mo. He played for Utd U21's v Chester last night. Apparently Utd have had a policy for a couple of years of playing an older coach actually in their U21's. Tom Huddlestone and Paul McShane the two previous incumbents.  Utd won 3-1 if it means anything.

Yet Man Utd are said to be getting rid of backroom staff including coaches

Sacked over 200 people!

Assuming a £50K salary average for that lot, it would save £10M a year - plus at least 20% more on top for NI,  pension, accommodation, hardware, training and tech support. Redundancy payments are tax deductible I believe, so the capital cost wouldn't be quite so bad either. But then, it ain't capital they're short of is it?

Current player in player coach roal Tom Huddlestone has just left to be first teacm coach at Wigan. Huddlestone has been in roal last 2 years. He's a couple of years older than Tommy. Huddlestone clearly had a very good career with 4 England caps, but I always felt he could have achieved more. On his day one of the very best passers of the ball around.

I don’t know their names but didn’t a couple of our juniors make that trip recently.
Previous to that, probably Harry Gregg.

Wasn't it just training? Wasn't Bobby one of em?

Were they brothers? I remember 2 lads going to ManU maybe 5 or 6 years back but I'm damned if I can recall their names....

BobG
PS. I know, (I think!) it wasn't those two brothers who went to Leeds. Or am I imagining that too now...?

No it wasn’t just training.
Two of our juniors went from our club to the MU academy.
Selby will know who they were.
I believe that their parents got some significant “incentives”.

The club also got money as well hound. I think that it was over 100k.
