Announced he’s had to pack the game in.
Well, the time has come for me to hang up my boots. Due to the knee injury I sustained back in February 2023, my surgeon has advised me to cease playing professional football. I did everything in my power to try and get back to doing what I love.

Never nice to hear a player having to give up before he's ready. All the best to him.

Good luck to him. Sad having to give up football completely because of an injury. Sensible decision.

I'm just back from holiday so have only just picked up on this.
Really sad news, I'm gutted for Caolan.
My brother and I had a chat with him before the start of last season and he seemed a really nice, genuine bloke. He was still hoping to regain fitness and try to force his way into Grant's plans, but of course that proved to be a forlorn hope.
He must be heartbroken to have to pack in at a relatively young age.
Good luck for the future Caolan.
