Does it really matter if he did or didn't say it?
I've seen Martin get dogs abuse on social media for years which is totally uncalled for.

It's the eve of a brand new season, one where the club finds itself in a fantastic position to lay waste to this division.
Everything about the club is now solid,  let's keep it positive and keep last seasons momentum going rather than looking back at bad times and who  said this and that.
Put your energy into supporting the club and try to bring a friend who has never been or hasn't been for a while.

We’ve for the time being got everything aligned - engaged owner, excellent CEO and superb management team. As ever could do with more people through the gate, but this is a good time at Rovers.

SM's words we're Blunt goes Terry goes be careful what you wish for.

I hope you can back that up.

Because, as I mentioned before, I have documented evidence that shows that’s not the case.

Post it up then

You wrote it on this forum. I recall it due to me thinking what a mess we are in if Terry left.

Surely it’s for you to post it up? You’re the one making the accusation, just back it up!!

I actually thought the same and was sure I'd seen words to that effect before. There is a search function on this site, though, and I couldn't find it so looks like I was also wrong.

There is this from a couple of years ago, though, which although it's not that explicit it does intimate much the same thing - that they come as a package.

Thankfully something shifted and TB changed his mind. Onwards and upwards.

Remember Terry has had DB at his side for more years than I'm sure he wants to remember and they built a very successful business between them. He's not going to give him the elbow just so he can keep a few kids or disgruntled supporters happy. He trusts him implicitly.

They are a team, simple as. TB is never going to start recruiting new Chairmen and CEO's at his time in life.

I stand by that, but you have to read the rest of that thread to understand its context, one where TB is being encouraged to stay but to get rid of Gavin and DB and recruit a new chair and CEO.

And here's another thread that I started in March 2023 which again reinforces my point;

Exactly. SMs not exactly defending DB is he. It's not a secret that S_M didnt hold much of a candle for DB and would have preferred Watson junior for new enthusiasm and broader appeal until circumstances changed.

Anyway, as predicted, this threads got out of hand. We're all heading in the right direction now.

Interesting that there has been no mention of the "Netto brigade" in all of this. Maybe they were right all along?  :chair: :chair:

Thank God there's an actual football match for us all to fall out over later!  ;)

Actually they made it worse by focusing on Gavin! Pictures of him on a flag just diverted attention away from the real problem which just helped prolong the issue. At the same time TB had to reconsider his approach to the club because, as I’ve pointed out before, he had confidence in his choice of CEO.

None of it matters now. The past is cast, the future to be written and right now is the only reality we have, and it’s a good reality.

Let’s get after it, Rovers.
