Alan, agreed on the standing thing. It does happen on a regular basis doesn’t it.On busy big crowd days it is inevitable and often older people who are unable to stand up all game either can’t see the pitch or have to move.
This is good. Over 7k Rovers.7423 including 211 Accrington.

They really stood out and at 40 to 48 quid for Club a nice little earner !Huge thanks and respect to Accy fans who joined in with minutes applause to honour 4 ex Rovers players which most of our fans would barely rememberCheers to them

They were ok turning up against Crewe and everybody arguing for tickets to now…. I think people in this City need to put up or shut up personally. The prices are affordable and we should be doing better than 7k.Ist game in peak holiday time. Not sure what you expect. 7.500 was what I hoped for as Accrington have a small away following. If we keep winning then we will see the gates increasing. I expect us to average over 8.000 this season hopefully 8.500 We have to remember we are in League 2 Peak holidays shouldn’t really matter for the size of the City IMO. The stadium is less than half full. That’s proper poor.

The 6423 figure is incorrect. 100% it is.Even McCann said he was delighted to see 3 sides of the ground so full. There were far more in the East stand than we had for most games last season. The West Stand looked very well populated and the South Stand didn’t have many empty seats at all. Even allowing for only 211 from Accy the gate must have been 1000 more than the BBC had.It would be good if the Club confirmed the correct gate.

There will have been a good away following of Notts C fans at Prenton Park and also a decent no of Colchester fans at Wimbledon as one of the nearest for the u’s this season. Only Bromley is nearer, possibly Gillingham. We even got a better gate than Franchise FC v the Bantams Only Notts County and Chesterfield will have a higher ave this season. Chesterfield because of the bounce back onto the league good feel factor. Yep had to be 7423 not 6423, you can just tell the difference being in the ground. The club posted out 7423 and haven’t issued a correction so I think it’s the PA and BBC that have got it wrong.https://x.com/drfc_official/status/1822298086615474366?s=46&t=oRfX1WiRiEXeMOmtN1TPDA

I took the lad to the Leeds v Valencia game (to see Valencia obviously!) last weekend & he said he'd rather go to the Rovers as it's a better experience & atmosphere.

Talk of people supporting other clubs is true but not an but also not an excuse.

Yesterday's gate was our biggest Tier 4 home opening day gate since at least the 1970s. And that, against the second worst supported club in the country. In another context, attendances in England are mind blowing. Yesterday's attendance was only topped as a season average last year by 31 teams in Italy39 in Spain28 in France50 in Germany21 in Netherlands 8 in Belgium6 in Portugal15 in Poland14 in RussiaAnd 65 in England.
About 5 minutes here.https://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attn.htmInternet, eh?
Forget the size of the City there is and always has been too much attraction from the "big" teams. We are 4th tier anything around 6 -7000 is good for our level
