Forget the size of the City there is and always has been too much attraction from the "big" teams. We are 4th tier anything around 6 -7000 is good for our level
I’m old enough to remember the start of the decline that we haven’t fully recovered from. Late in 1969 we sold Harold Wilcockson to the Owls with Irvine and Branfoot coming in. After this our results were disastrous and the attendances fell. Leeds were doing well as were other local rivals. I suggest that you have a look at the statistics. Some of us stayed on, we had some great times but the deserters packed their bags and never returned.
I don't see why you are telling me this, my point is you can't use the size of the City to determine what attendances should be. I am also old enough to remember the 60's and agree we lost supporters and potential support to the bigger clubs it has never returned

On the Football Web Pages site it has the crowd as 7.4k. That’s a good website for info btw
It has now. It had 6423 originally. It’s been corrected

I know of 4 returning who literally went to 3 or 4 games last season. They'll be at the Morecambe game. One is a Man Utd fans but his kids loved it that much. Now buying a multi package

All this unnecessary debate over a PA typo!  Attendances are on the up and will continue with decent football, it's not rocket science.

Thank goodness for that. I didn't think my judgement was that bad.

This bodes well as we know once the holiday season ends and before winter sets in we have the opportunity to build with continued good form.

With examples like Padge says, picking up folks like this along the way to come and see proper footy at affordable prices trumps over priced Premier League plastic any day.

Those occasionals who came second half of last season should be coming back sooner rather than later too.

I humbly apologise ravenrover I wasn't trying to tell you anything that would be appalling and rude I was just joining the general chat. Again I'm very sorry.

Not bad really, definite uptick in the crowds.  5 of my group away today we'll be back next game.

If the five that weren’t there today are season ticket holders then officially they were there.

Decent Attendance for Division 4, plus the sky viewers plus the Rovers+ viewers plus Rovers+ audio listeners (eventually).

Around 7k home fans again today. It’s fairly consistent for the three home league games so far.

Total gate 7546 with 637 from Gillingham.

With a big gap now until Chesterfield at home at it being a local ISH derby. Crowd of 11k and 8k home fans is a possibility

More importantly, there's an atmosphere developing. Very good for so early in the season.

If we keep playing well and stay near the top of the league,if the games not on sky we should start getting close to 8,500-9,000 home fans in

Don't think sky matters anyone wanting it televised has been able to do so every game for the past 5 years

Agree but then surprisingly still some Harrogate tickets left, expected a sell out there.

Perhaps it’s not too attractive, a Thursday and the dreaded Harrogate Town, in 4 meetings we’ve lost 3 and drawn 1 throwing a 0-2 lead away.
A big bogey of a team, bad memories for many.
But things are different now …. Hopefully!

Scored three times in our two visits to their place. There's goals in them there hills.

Am sure Terry will turn up to this one.
