As I remember it he blew for the foul and then the Accy No.4 (I think) kicked the ball away.  I said to my mate two yellows coming here and he gave nothing more than the free kick. Didn't even speak to either of the culprits.

Do you mean when Maxwell got his injury or the one on the keeper?

Bit of a difference picking up an injury ie a muscle strain to being hit late on a 60-40 ball

The one close to the halfway line in front of the west stand.

Senior is not a bad stand in though

Think Nixon will come in for him.

McCann confirmed Senior will come in for Maxwell.

And that challenge went without being penalised, it's an absolute joke the standard of refereeing. This won't be the first time this season teams dish out the rough stuff on us.

I am beginning to wonder if it wasn't that challenge itself that caused the injury, bad as the challenge was. Grant said James put his foot down with no-one anywhere near him, and IIRC he went off quite a while after that challenge. Whether that challenge weakened the foot before the second incident is of course quite possible.

Don’t think that’s too bad depending on the seriousness of the fracture. Could have been worse.

Senior’s injury record isn’t much better. If he stays fit for the next 3 months I will be very surprised.

This weakens us in attack. We saw Maxwell swing some delicious crosses in last season. Joe and Billy may see their output dip slightly.

One thing Senior is better at is being aggressive and winning headers. Maxwell is by far the better player but teams will often aim long balls in his direction to their benefit.

Maxwell hobbled about and  sat down a couple of times after the "tackle" before play was stopped and medics came on

I think the foul on Maxwell was in the 72nd minute, he had treatment and played on, and was substituted in the 86th minute. Rovers made a triple substitution in the 75th minute which didn't include Maxwell. That is how I recall it, and that is what the BBC live text of the match says as well. Not saying the bad tackle/foul didn't contribute, but it looks like there must have been a later second incident with no-one near Maxwell as Grant suggests.

Maybe he should have come off in the 72nd minute. Hindsight and all that  :headbang:

Very very bad news this.
Big player for us.
However great opportunity for Jack Senior.
Having minimum of 2 players for each position is one of GM’s big wants, so another great (yet simple) piece of management.

Big opportunity for Senior this, he know knows he has a clear run for the next three months bar any injury to himself.

As a defender, as said he's more aggressive and proactive, should make us a better defending unit.

As an attacker, not so great going forward and his delivery needs improving, but he's here to progress and become a better player, with the momentum the team have he comes in at an good time for him. Cant see why playing in a confident side should not improve him and allow him to kick on, A run of consecutive games should do him the world of good.

Depends on where fracture is some are more easily "Repaired" than others. Tuberosity - Jones  fracture can be aided by screwing together.Jones.Stress and Shaft fractures possibly require a screwed on plate. either way i would think its 3 months minimum out.

Gutting this. Must be a bad break if he needs an op. I broke my metatarsal  (can't remember which one) but was back playing in 6 weeks.
