Thought Miller might have been much more of a threat in League Two. Managed 9 league goals last season and 4 this season. Ok return but nothing special.

What a great bloke Graeme is. I hope his wife is on the mend too.

Graeme was on BBC Tees yesterday.  Despite being given 12 months to live in 2019 his wife Gemma is still with us and getting on with family life.  She is receiving regular treatment and her tumour is described as being stable.

Reece James supposedly one of the players who phoned in sick for Rotherham and was missing last night. Contract up this summer. Sound familiar?

Lovely little snippet of an interview from Louis Jones. Delighted for him. I’ve said a few times he’s a lovely kid from a lovely family. Hoping he has a few belting performances the next couple of weeks.

Matlock have accepted an offer for Liam Ravenhill.

His dad ended his time as assistant manager there the other day

Both those snippets of news are odd, but then there’s a lot of odd things happen at Matlock Town.

I spent a fascinating half hour talking to their owner, David Hilton, when they played my local team this season. Of course that’s the same notorious David Hilton who previously owned Scunthorpe and has served time for fraud.

Amongst other things he told me how much he was paying some of the players, and it was crazy money for that level.
He gave the impression that Liam was an important player for them so I’m amazed he is leaving.
And Ricky had only just joined as Assistant Manager so that hasn’t lasted long.

And he had just sacked Adam Clayton the week before, despite them sitting 3rd in the table and guaranteed a play-off spot!

Brace of goals for Alfie May today, taking his tally to 7 league goals for the season. The same as Billy despite having played ~350 minutes more. Disappointing season for both him and Huddersfield.

Captained them to the title, not a bad way to go out. Not as good as a hat trick, mind…

Signed for Cleethorpes Town in the Northern Premier League - Premier Division. Will be playing next season I think alongside former Rover Billy Whitehouse and former trialist Bailey Conway.

He has stepped up a division from Matlock Town, who failed to get promoted from the Northern Premier League - East Division.

Apparently Matlock wanted Liam to stay, which chimes with what Matlock’s owner told me, but when they lost to Bradford PA in the play-offs, Liam wanted to play at a higher level (understandably).

Despite finishing 2nd in the table, Matlock have cleared out all but 3 of their players!

Hadn’t realised Hilton had turned up at Matlock. Staggering that this bloke can be allowed anywhere near a football club again. It’s a fine old club with a great history. You have to fear for them.

Andy Williams retires at 39 after 3 years at Hereford. Played more games there than anywhere else, surprisingly we are second on his appearance list.

Sad to hear about Neil Grayson - MND and dementia. I was just beginning to work away a lot , so missed most of the seasons he played.

When I started talking to this guy standing next to me at a recent Matlock game I had no idea at first that it was Hilton and that he was the club’s owner.
What followed was an incredible half-hour conversation during which the penny soon dropped as I realised who I was talking to.

I was amazed at how much he ‘revealed’ to me, possibly because I mentioned I was a Rovers fan so had a connection with Adam Clayton and Liam & Ricky Ravenhill.

While telling me about his time at Scunthorpe he used the phrases “Don’t believe all you read” and “There’s 2 sides to every story” about 3 times.

He said he is funding around a £1 million annual budget at Matlock ……

Neil Grayson was one of those players that people took to, had been “in work” before becoming a footballer and he also gave 100% , he’s absolutely loved at Northampton and Cheltenham

Yeah was reading Blackpool fans comments and vast majority were in favour of him staying due to him giving his all in games, although many stating his negative was the amount of penalties he concedes. So looks like he’s not changed since leaving us!

I remember someone getting rather angry on here when I said Anderson would have been run ragged in League One.

We offered him a contract!

Before the transfer window closes at least one person on here will sincerely say we should bring Marquis in. No idea who, but someone will. Calling it.
