Anyone know if we'd already drawn Everton in the cup last time we played at Newport? Minds elsewhere?
Not worrying too much about this. I think it’s good that some weaknesses were highlighted so they can be nipped in the bud.Take the loss and lessons from it
No, we were not at it! They were a big physical and fast team, and that highlighted how far some of the lads were off it. Passes were not strong enough, tackles were half hearted and we dithered on the ball. We were not as poor as last year though, we had chances, and made the wrong choices - I am certain a few will get a shellacking from Grant. There was an attitude of” do you know who we are” today, that needs stamping out, and replacing with the hard graft we showed at the back end of last season.
Back down to Earth after that.I am making no more score predictions this season as it did bite me on the bum.Just a bad day at the officeWe go again next week. Expect a big reaction to that defeat.
That was seriously cack. Back to first half of last season performances. A strong, fast press and we fall apart.I think we are going to be relying on Kelly being the next Craig.
I thought Broadbent was good first half. He and Clifton were pretty solid. Lots to work on though because we got bullied second half. Sbarra against their hefty lads was a big ask.Thought the ref was inconsistent. Not blaming him for the loss but Wildig went through the back of Bailey and it was a clear yellow. Whitmore was another repeat offender. And Bailey was booked for a much lesser crime.
Christ. Bit of an overreaction. Poor second half but let’s not get carried away.
