Just to give a heads up, but allow time to get through the A1 roadworks around Darrington, complete pain in the butt.

At the time we shall be going up there, I'd avoid that stretch like the plague..it will be queuing back to almost red house..

Go on the A19 until you hit the M62 then head towards the A1, if you are on the Armthorpe/Rosso side of the City I’d go on the M18 until the 62 and pick the A1 up from there, longer distance but you miss the roadworks

I’ve been doing M62 then M18 from Bradford for ages to miss the A1 traffic for matches.

Summer 2023 I think but they keep finding more wrong with it - looked like they were starting to get ready for tarmacing a couple of weeks ago. Nailed on as soon as the bridge is done they’ll be doing central reservation lol

Will they finish this or the m62 Ouse bridge first?

I can see the A1 from my office and it is certainly yo be avoided.

The roadworks from the hospital to Town Moor must be a leading contender in the longest roadworks stakes

To be fair it looks a lot worse than it actually is, I’m usually sat in it a couple of times a week going to our York office, it adds about 10 minutes if you sit in the queue rather than turn off. Lorry drivers don’t help pulling into outside lane (and then driving alongside who they pulled out on) to prevent motorists utilising that lane

M1 50mph stretch also coming on as a contender. Next time you're in that, the A1, Tickhill stripe road, play a game of spot the worker. Nobody wins
