Evening all.

I've attached a link below to YouTube for Paul Malcolms Testimonial game in May 1990 (Rover XI v Barnsley) when a certain Paul Gascoigne put on a show (just a month before announcing himself on the world stage at Italia 90).

Quality isn't the greatest, but a cracking bit of nostalgia. Also included is the HT penalty comp between King Alick and Gazza.

Thanks to Pat Jackson, who salvaged this from his VHS collection

Enjoy!!

What a find HR! I wasn't there but afterwards my old Dad told me about this wunderkind Gascoigne from Newcastle trapping a cross field pass with his arse. Trouble is, apart from what I presume is Paul Malcolm in goal I can't see who anybody else is. ...

Proper offside law though.

Wonder who filmed it? And why?!

Many thanks

I was struggling to identify them all but seeing the late, great Billy Bremner no 4 was a real treat. Colin Douglas helping him out in defence.

Yes, I'd also heard about Gazza's arse trap so it was great to actually see it.

The penno shoot out with King Alick is a real collectors item. Two greats at both ends of their footballing lives brought together for a bit of fun.

It would be great if this could be pinned with all the other vids so it's preserved for everyone to enjoy.

Oh that's just made an old man very happy.

As you get older, you do start to wonder if your memories get embellished a bit. But I got that one pretty well right. Just a bit further  up the pitch.

Gazza's goal at 1:19:35 is still to this day the most outrageous bit of God given skill I've ever seen on a football pitch.

The man was an absolute joy. Just a big kid who loved what he could do with a ball.

Other thing I remember from that night was how narky Steve Agnew was. Spent the night trying to flatten Gazza and not getting near him. There's a bit at 1:21:20 where he has a  little dig at Bremner who must've been pushing 50 by then.

Not got time to watch the whole thing but would love to see Gazza's arse-trap - can anybody tell me the time on the video?

The memory of Gazza throwing the ball down to his foot & controlling it instantly was great to see again. Genius.

The first time I ever sat in the main stand seating. Even then at 9 years old, I thought the leg room was tight

I was there with my Glaswegian uncle, the half time penalty shoot out doesn’t show where Gaza even pointed out to the keeper where he was going to aim the ball.
Gaza’s car had broken down near the racecourse roundabout pre match ( he probably ran out of petrol) he abandoned the car and walked with us to the ground.
