Paul Dianno RIP
« on October 21, 2024, 08:32:03 pm by Ye-Aul-Tavern »
A sad day for all the maiden heads. Those first two maiden records are classics. Poor Paul was a bit of a lost soul. A couple of stints in jail for assaulting a lady and drugs and gun charges. Sold his rights to the maiden songs he wrote for a pittance in the mid 80s too. To be honest, I can't get in to the stuff he did later in his career. I saw him live solo a couple of times and he spent a lot of the show giving out and saying how his solo band were much better than maiden. It was good fun though and great to see him doing those early maiden classics. Great that they made up in recent years. RIP

Saw him in August at Stonedead doing punk versions of the songs off of two albums that he did with Maiden.
He was in a wheelchair but came across really well and was very funny.
It was a great set and I think his band were a Maiden tribute band.

Those first Maiden albums with him on were immense, he seemed to sink deeper in the mire as time went by. As above couldn’t really get into his later stuff. Rest east and Run Free
