Why?
Because he's 63 & nobody needs to know his political leanings. Should just concentrate on what hes good at!

He’s as entitled to post his views online as you or I, in his personal accounts.

The fact that he has some celebrity status doesn’t mean he should shut up and not have an opinion.

Seconded.

From an apparently angry man. Bizarre. Commenting on fact today is now alleged to be a sign of anger. Strange person.

no gripes about Lineker, in fact I quite like him but am bored sensseless by the tired format of the programme with its 'experts' and 'strategists, 'tacticians' and commentators. Boring and outdated.
I quite like the old-fashionedness of it, it's traditional. I always loved hearing Tim Gudgin reading out the fulltime scores on a Saturday, it reminds me on sitting in my Grandads house 30 years ago. It's the same with Match of the Day, that theme song and gentle approach is really traditional. I really hope they're not going to 'sexy' it up and bring it in to this century with social media feedback, and kooky presenting.

Ive become bored with premier league footy  BUT   Get Laura Woods on and I will start watching MOTD again!
Who does she support? If they win the league, what's the chance of her presenting in her underwear?

Lord... How time does fly.

I remember hearing Jack Charlton, resident expert on some match or other, referring to Gary Lineker as "the boy Line-acre". Lol. He also used to refer to the German player, Horst Hrubesch, as 'that guy Rubbish'....

PS. Does anyone else remember Jack's 'little black book'?!

Also called the Spanish keeper Arconada, "Anaconda".

Alex Scott nailed on, she ticks two boxes.

It absolutely won't be a straight white male, despite that being the majority demographic of people who watch MOTD.

The BBC isn't a meritocracy. so unfortunately for Mark Chapman, he won't be in the running, despite clearly being the best person for the job.
