Tomorrow’s result
« on November 30, 2024, 10:02:24 pm by Spilsby Red »
Seems insignificant to me. Obviously I want a win. Just been told I have fluid on my brain, a lot that has made my brain move. Also I have been told I have a brain tumour. It’s a waiting game for me now. I have accepted it but then it knowing if it’s good or bad.
I live away, me and my son travel to most games at home, we live away. There is a possibility I can’t drive, meaning my son and me will miss games. Gutted is not the word.
As much as a win tomorrow would be amazing. Life matters more

Spilsby, although we don’t know each other I feel shocked and dismayed to read what you have posted about.
I can’t imagine how bad you must be feeling.
Right now all I can say is that I am wishing you some really good luck and hope that you can get rid of the ailment you have.
Here’s hoping that as time goes by you can give us all some positive updates.

Thank you. Just need to open up at times. I hope it’s all ok. I am more gutted that I might not be able to bring my son. He loves DRFC as I do. We sing loud and proud in the south stand

Spilsby. I was so shocked by your post that I had to read it twice to get my head around it.

Really sorry for your plight, and I hope you can maintain some positivity through this difficult episode in your life.

I'm sure you are in all our thoughts and there will always be someone here for you to talk to 24/7 if you need to.

Think positive and take care.

It’s bloody hard at the moment. Accepting what I have got but not knowing yet if it could be worse. However, treatment has come one a lot. The hardest thing is maybe not be able to come with my son to games as I might not be able to drive. That to me me is the hardest thing

Thanks. Was gutted as was going to Carlisle last week. Me, my son and his two mates. Only to be told I could have had a stroke. Hence didn’t make the journey. My son and his mates understood. Then to be told later this week the new shock news. Hard. Accepting it, just the not knowing now

Spilsby, like others here I wish you well through this.

I know how you feel. my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in August. To hear the "C" word is akin to being hit around the head and punched in the stomach. It takes time to process it, take in the ramifications. However after an operation in October it seems she is on the road to recovery.  Treatment has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Stay strong and thinking of you.

Spilsby, I really don't know what to say to you after reading your post a couple of times as others have done also.
It took a couple of readings for it to sink in the enormity of what you posted.
I can only say I sincerely hope you have some better news to come, and wish you good luck and best wishes to you and your family who will be helping you to deal with this. God bless you all.

Life throws up awful challenges sometimes Spilsby and whereas we all express different opinions on this forum I am.pretty damn sure every one here is gunning for you. It's great to see how, like it is for most of us here, DRFC is in your blood and always will be despite everything. Very best wishes mate.

Best wishes Spilsby. Rovers is something that’s in all our lives forever. We have to kick it into touch from time to time while we deal with other stuff. But it’s always there to come back to when we’re ready. It’s just some blokes kicking a bag of wind about. It’s ultimately pointless and mostly a waste of time. But it’s part of you.

Puts football into perspective when it comes to this kind of personal insight. Wishing you all the very best Spilsby, I hope you get positive updates and that you and your son get to many more games in the future.

There are a few of us Donny fans who live in Lincolnshire so we can always try to help once you’re feeling better & less at risk, just let us know.

Best wishes Spilsby, I hope you have a speedy recovery. I know what you mean about driving. My recent health scare was a potential bleed on the brain - luckily I had the all clear, but the thought of not driving was a game changer

When you are well enough I’m sure there will be people who will help get you to watch rovers - because they are the best medicine of all!
