A very polite 'thank you to Truro for helping with Tavonga's development' from Rovers.

I suspect that might be through gritted teeth, because he hasn't started a single game for them and I think the earliest he's been brought on as a sub in any game was the 70th minute.

To my untrained eye that looks like a waste of a loan for the lad.

To many of these young players have shown in men’s football that they are not good enough to keep any longer

At every loan he has had he has been just a bench warmer and not good enough.

Football is all about opinions, McCann seems to like him, the other managers he’s been in loan with him might not rate him

Ultimately, at whatever club you find yourself at, whether that be a loan deal seen as part of your development by your ‘senior club’ or a loan to bring you ‘up to fitness’, you have to accept & grasp it as a ‘positive’.

The alternative, despite all the ‘smoke you may have had blown up your arse’ from the age of eight will come to nothing.

It’s down to you ‘son’.

That felt like a hospital pass of a loan. At that young age it is hard enough being farmed out and expected to make an impact in just a few weeks but especially if you are shuffled off to literally the end of the earth, with no friends or family nearby. At thar young age you need to be right mentally to make an immediate impact.

shame as when I saw him two years ago away at Wimbledon, he looked like he had something about him?

Wasn't he bvoted MoM in a game last season when he came on as a sub for 20mins?

He was liked and has changed at least one game when coming on. They are flying at the moment so having having less opportunities to get on. They're sad to see him go and think it's come from Doncaster side as he's not getting enough game time.
Live down Cornwall and kind of following their progress now they are back in Truro this season

I wondered that at the time. Is it the new ‘sent to Coventry’? But we don’t know the details. There were probably solid reasons why it was a good idea. The club must weigh it all up and look after their players. Living in Cornwall in July, August, September onwards wouldn’t be a bad option. Or maybe he has family or a mate nearby that made it a good option. Or maybe a clean break from ‘home’ was a good option for a while.

Get some games in and come back to us in a better position. As it happens he’s played 102 minutes for a club in Cornwall rather than 10+ full games for a team much nearer. Let’s see what happens next.

In pre-season  games that I saw videos of he looked full of confidence taking opponents on in one-to-one situations and was certainly not shy ,activcdly looking for the ball .You might call him a ' confidence ' player meaning that at this stage of life / career he needs a. sympathetic  coach who shows belief in him .

Truro are top of Conf South with a settled team.

Why would their manager change a winning team to give more game time to a learning youngster, when the points are totting up under the side selected?

Tav needed a break when injuries/suspensions gave him a chance to make a claim.
Better to come back and try another option, just like Goodman at Bradford PA.

Sometimes folk jump on the "not good enough" bandwagon without considering other factors at play.

He is nearly a year older than Faulkner  ( he went abroad) and nearly two years older than Flint who could well be involved in the first team this season.

Gone on loan to Belper Town, 3rd in the Northern Premier Division One East for the rest of the season. Not a terrific level but hopefully he gets some games.

Made his debut for Belper away at Garforth the other night, played out wide on the left and looked impressive by all accounts before being subbed late on.

I think the lad has got a lot of ability.
Hope he gets a lot of game time at Belper and really makes a mark.
The lad deserves a break.
He is very capable of playing at a decent level imo.
Sometimes the physicality of non league football isn’t conducive to a lad who very good running with the ball.
That’s something he will have to get to grips with if he is going to make a career in the EFL or National League.

Surely we'd have been better suited giving this lad the opportunities that Yeboah has had this season. Can't imagine he'd had done any worse.

Scored the opener for Belper in a 1-1 draw at Brighouse at the weekend. Got a full 90 minutes under his belt too.

Comments from Belper Town's Manager:

(Tav) is a real thorn in the side, isn’t he? He’s sharp and I like him, he’s direct and we probably need to get him facing their goal a little more. Today he was in a fight especially in the second half a lot of the time, playing with his back to goal.

He handled his body quite well today for a young lad, so we’re pleased with him, and I think he’ll only get better on the better surfaces especially when we play at home, I think he’s going to be a live wire for us.

Agreed hound.

The same division as Jack Goodman at Bradford PA

Counts the same as one from 25yards though.

Another goal for Tav today at Bradford PA, in a 3.2 win for Belper;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5F3zfh3JPcs

That's the 3rd now, after his header the other day.

Lots of Rovers connections here.
The Belper winner is scored by Jack Watson, ex Rovers junior.

BPA had Ben Blythe in defense, with Goodman and Brown on the bench, alongside Bojang, another Rovers junior.
Goodman got on near the end.
