January window

Can't come soon enough. This will be the factor by which we'll either get promoted or spend a 3rd season in League 2.

We're being kept around the top 3 because the teams around us keep beating each other. This won't keep happening. Walsall are running away with the league, and one or two other teams will start putting runs together.

That could be us, but only if we recruit well, as we did last January. The squad at the moment is nowhere near good enough for promotion.

Good players are always welcome but more than anything I think we need to rediscover what we are about and how we play. There is a big old squad with many good players in there but we don’t look like a team that has a clear idea of what they are trying to achieve. Sorting that would be better than any new signing.

100%. Basic things need sorting otherwise new players will find it hard to be effective.

As it stands maybe McCann is struggling to see the Wood for trees (see what I did there!?)

We need a striker who can score consistently (I know that’s really obvious)
Someone fast and direct

Our manager needs to sort this, otherwise he’s in danger of losing the fans !

We are missing someone who can link the play, Craig did that last season with Bailey at his side. We do need pace up front. We aren’t missing much because a lot is confidence.

It’s a worry because how can we add 3 or 4 much needed players with such a big squad already?

If this was football manager I’d be trying to get rid of 4 or 5 of them but it’s not going to be that easy!

He’s had the backing like no other manager for years , it’s down to McCann now to pick his best team and stick at it - always been a huge fan of Grant and the way his teams play but I do think we are over complicating a weak division and time for some of our players to prove him wrong rather than being dropped or chopping and changing

Yeboah has returned to Bristol. One signing in the bag - an offer in for a.n.other.

GM’s latest presser prior to Colchester.
