No audio for the first 15 minutes not for the first time this season or can't hear commentary for the crowd noise, we pay for this service FFS, Liam Hoden get this sorted out.  :headbang:

It's woeful.

15 mins as you said, then when the commentary came on it was so dull!! Tom is much better.

For too often the system (Ifollow) was blamed but truthfully I think it is likely the users.

The Rovers+ season membership pass isn't cheap and we should certainly have a better product for the money.

Yep. May seem trivial but if you're like me – a 7 hour round trip to a home game the audio is a bit of a lifeline.  Worse thing is when there's background crowd noise for 16 mins as in today you've no idea whether the comms mikes aren't working, it's the game you can hear but nobody's turned up to commentate or what? There's no explanation when it does come on?? Service gone backwards and it just looks like nobody actually cares. It's not a free service - we pay for it!

Does anyone know how you can cancel the service? Today was the last straw for me I’m afraid.

I tried logging on to my account on the website but whenever I click the view my subscription link it just returns a Page Not Found meaning I have no option to cancel.

Seems really, really poor but somehow not surprised with how bad the service has been this season.

Just cancel your direct debit, they’ll no doubt be in touch with you then

In addition to yesterday's game, there was also no audible commentary on the final 12 minutes of the Walsall game.

I tried to log in to pay for commentary for the Colchester game on 29th but couldn't get access. I emailed the club and messaged them on BlueSky about it... I'm yet to get a response from either.

The club could do with a bit of a rethink as to how they use some of their social media channels. If they're not planning to engage with comments/responses on certain channels and just use them purely for distribution then they should make that known, so people aren't getting even more frustrated with them for a lack of response.

Something went wrong  .....  is all I get logging on official site using Google Chrome as browser, I change to windows edge and logged in ok, I think there's compatibility issues, it would be of interest if anyone else is using latest edition chrome and having problems logging on, it was fine until I updated chrome

Agree with all the above!

I just can't put it into words how utterly frustrating it is looking into the silent TV monitor, from 10 am (USA East Coast Time), hoping that a commentary will begin --

One thing I miss is being able to flick over and listen into the away team's commentary team -- but that only reminds one how sub standard the Rovers commentary is.

The best we have is listening in to the Radio Sheffield feed, but I'm not interested the Owls, Blades, Barnsley and Millers.

Why can't we have Tom Biltcliffe and Barry Miller commentating for the entire game. They do a great job

Opposition commentary was very often better quality and it was interesting getting the others perspective. It's quite rare these days buying an online service that's getting progressively worse and more amateur. The previous iFollow service worked for the most part really well. What we're getting served up feels a bit like the home catering.

Apologies for the delay in replying to the comments regarding the outage at the start of Wednesday's game. I have been awaiting a response from our production partners IMG.
I am told a paperwork error at their end was the reason the feed was not switched on until roughly 15 minutes into the game. I am assured that it won't happen again.
It was an issue we weren't aware was occuring until ten minutes into the game. Unfortunately, due to the number of staff in the department, it is not always possible for the club to monitor the Rovers+ output live and so we put our faith in the league's production partners to do so. We are putting measures in place as much as possible for the feed to be checked by club staff.
Issues such as this are extremely frustrating for the club. We endeavour to provide a service to our supporters both here and abroad that provides value for money.
We send our sincere apologies for the outage and will do as much as we can in order to ensure issues such as this are rectified as soon as possible.

As for the quality of commentary, I can only apologise for any dissatisfaction at the service. Unfortunately, local professionals such as Tom Biltcliffe and Robbie Andrews are only available at limited times dependent on their commitments with BBC Radio Sheffield.
As I have stated previously, we want to provide a commentator that has a strong knowledge of the club, both currently and historically, and someone of that ilk is not easy to find. We are hopeful of providing a commentator on a regular basis by the start of next season at the latest.

Any time you encounter any issues or have any comments to make, please email media@clubdoncaster.co.uk. Again, due to staffing, we cannot always guarantee an immediate response but will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Response from Martin ( silent majority ) to Rovers+ problems

Hi John,

Hope you're well.

Liam has responded on the forum to the questions raised. I have a meeting lined up with Gavin next week so I’m happy to take it further if you so wish. I have to agree the product seems to be well below the standard required or expected and needs looking at more closely.

HPNY

Martin

Hi Martin,
Yes something needs doing it seems not to be a priority, this should be closely monitored by the club as we pay for this service and is the only way many of us can follow the Rovers, we used to be able watch full match replays less than 12 hours after the games finished it's 48 hours after the fleetwood game now but still not available!,we were told this would be a better service than iFollow But if falls short in nearly every way, Rovers overseas supporter subscriptions have almost double from around £95 to £180 and what  for a inferior product,I could go on but I just get so angry to how we are being treated by the club. John :rtid:

Please let us knowe if you have had problems with Rovers+ regards John.

A long shot here SM, for those in time zones of around gmt 9 hours + losing a weekend by getting up/staying up for a late or early 2.00am kick-off on a regular basis is not viable, for me anyway.

Rovers+ does not offer single games, only a month or or a season. This rules me out from watching live games except the occasional FA cup game. There is still the option of watching after 24hours but that means (again for me) avoiding looking at results or the tables or the forum for that period also.

Streaming appears to be more expensive with less options.

Hi Liam - thanks for coming on here and responding. It all worked fine yesterday and no glitches. The difficulty has been if it doesn’t connect, as a user you’re not always sure why? There’s just silence. It could be the commentary isn’t there, there’s no signal, bad Wi-Fi at our end etc…. It’s the unknown bit that’s annoying. It’s not happening all the time. But it’s enough to mean users lack trust and faith in it working when you do tap in.

In regards to the timing of highlights, extended highlights and full match replays, the broadcast regulations contain a publication embargo of midnight following the game, whatever day. This applies to all clubs and their channels and has been in place throughout the season.
Prior to this season, with the highlights packages the embargo was 1am following the game so it has been brought forward.
I know in the past full match replays were available on demand almost straight away but the regulations have changed.
There have been delays this season on rare occasions, meaning not all of the options have been available at midnight. Following our switch of website provider, we have to manually upload the three options when previously it was done externally. The footage is not guaranteed to be available in time, which is out of our hands unfortunately. We do our best to ensure they are uploaded ASAP but sometimes it can be in the middle of the night when they finally land on the download portal.

Some outlets such as Sky Sports have the ability to publish highlights earlier as part of their deals.

Rovers+ does offer individual matches which are advertised on the homepage of the website before every game and can also be found on the subscriptions section of the Rovers+ page. Audio passes are £2.50 and video passes for international supporters are £10. These match passes are for the game only and do not give access to the full replays, which is reserved for the monthly or seasonal audio or video passes.

FA Cup matches are not available for video streaming at all as the FA do not have a streaming broadcast deal in place. We cannot sell individual audio passes for FA Cup games but full commentary is available for monthly or seasonal subscribers. Again, this is a broadcast deal issue.

No audio for the first 15 minutes not for the first time this season or can't hear commentary for the crowd noise, we pay for this service FFS, Liam Hoden get this sorted out.  :headbang:

I got sick and tired of the poor service, the site signing me out then not accepting my password ( or several others that LH sent to me) I told him to repay me and opt out of using anything from the club. I just don't bother listening in to matches any more, but just use the graphics on Bet 365. I have got to 3 matches this season, and may make another couple, but this sort of incompetence is unacceptable from any organisation.

Contact LH direct, I have his email if you want it, just tell him you want your membership cancelled, if it isn't done then raise a dispute through your bank.

Liam, I realise FA Cup games are not usually offered but I am led to believe that the forthcoming FA Cup game versus Hull City is being broadcast via a number of countries. In view of this could you confirm if Rovers + will be streaming the game to overseas subscribers. Thanks.

Hi SC, I can confirm FA Cup matches are streamed in Oz by Optus and therefore not available via Rovers+ I failed to make that clear in my earlier post.
