Sam Straughan-Brown, one of the club's most highly-rated youngsters, has gone out on a month's loan to non-league side Bradford Park Avenue.

He played yesterday, came on as a sub in a 2-1 win away at Liveredge. Jack Degruchy was a second half sub for Liversedge.

Decent standard BPA. I feel like it’s a good move for him at this stage in his career.

The reason they have to go out on loan, and it is not a bad thing at all, is u18s football is as far as they can go at the club unless a jump to the first team.
We have no u21s which is a barrier internally. While still under 18s it is quite easy to get loans as they can go out on work experience which costs the loaning club nothing as they are in an education system that pays their wages through Doncaster Rovers.
After that age if given a pro contract the loaning club would be expected to pay towards the players wages, so the loaning club need to want the player in the first place, with more competition from other clubs young players especially from clubs like the Sheffield  clubs with good players and are more difficult to place and get game time.
Flint and Faulkner are two who have done well on loans most others less so.  One thing to remember is how the team actually do they are loaned to is not that important, it is all about their individual performance and experience gained.
