Hurst
« on January 12, 2025, 07:05:41 pm by mushRTID »
I was convinced SBarra was the attacking player who will be departing, as Grant hinted at.

Looks like it is Hurst after todays squad selection?

And with Close included too, Westbrooke to move on?

When did he say about the outgoing player being an attacking player? Heard him talking about more experienced players going out but not attacking players.

If Iv misheard or misunderstood him then hands up.
Probably just put 2 and 2 together with us signing 2 x attacking players.

SBarra worked his nuts off today putting a foot in and closing down and created our goal with a sublime through ball.

There's no capital B. It's just Sbarra.

Was a bit loose in possession 1st half but like you say he worked tirelessly without the ball and even won a couple of headers. The ball for the goal was different class, superbly weighted and Molly showed good strength and composure to finish. Sbarra deserves to keep his place for the next game

So McCann wants a squad of 20 he said this week. He had 20 today, plus Wood and the new signing for midweek.  Add in Hurst, Westbrook, Jones, Faulkner and that's a lot of players to go out.

Interesting that Hurst was fit but not selected.

GM in a piece in free press talked about Hurst  and Emmanual  being left out on rotation. Also Kelly and Wood injured. He did not mention Westbrooke Faulkner or Jones.
One thing he did say was we could have another player in early next week.

Sbarra run his socks off today, like Clifton usually does, but In the first half I thought to myself,he was a bit of a headless chicken, iffy passes and sometimes poor positioning,But then not long into second half,Bang he recieves a ball well from I think Maxwell, and quickly plays a sublime through ball for Moly to who takes it well and shakes his man and slots it away.Love it!
Have'nt a clue who is going out,if any do,did think it might be Sbarra before today.

We've seen defence splitting balls before from Sbarra, and he is certainly a grafter.  Deserves more starts to see if he's our missing ingredient.

I think had Sbarra not played the pass for the goal not a single fan with eyes in their head would say how well he played. The first half their number 19 was just walking off of him into space, receiving the ball from the centre halves and starting attacks. That position is also important for picking up second balls and I can’t think of him winning any. He was completely anonymous apart from the goal which I believe was an error from Giles. When Clifton came on we looked more compact and started to win the ball in those areas.

IMO Hurst has had more than enough chances though, and if it was between the 2 of them to go out on loan then I would send him and give Sbarra more of an apportunity at the level we play at rather than cup games.

I completely agree. He under hit the pass for the goal as well and the defender made a hash of it. Non existent (along with Sharp) in the press.

im glad someone else has spoken up. I thought I was watching a different game to everyone else. He barely touched the ball apart from the goal, and was running around on the pitch like a competition winner. I don’t see that he’s anywhere near good enough. Grant hooked him not long after the goal.

Slightly unfair as he hasn't had a decent run in the team.
He, along with others should get 4 or 5 games consecutively. Cant expect someone who's been in and out of the subs bench to have any kind of match sharpness or form.
Hirst has had more chances and not took them, Gibson the same. Let's see what Sarbs can do.
You just have to look at Sterry, Olowu and McGrath to see how a good run in the team gives them the confidence, sharpness and then good playing form.
