I could only listen to this game on radio Sheffield and reminded me of the Brentford game when we were promoted following their missed penalty. Witch, do you think was better?

Great performance yesterday from all involved

However ( glad as I am and I repeat I  happy, pleased optimistic   chuffed beyond belief ) we got to Round 4 of the Cup

Brentford was light years ahead in terms of what it meant and indeed still will until the last person who was there or was told by someone wha was there has gone

PS I am genuinely pleased and was jumping up and down by the win

Play like that consistently till end of season and I will be jumping up and down some more

Yesterday (opinion from viewing as a expat on FS ) was for me more about the performance than the Brentford effect . .The squad will have taken a lot out of the togetherness displayed throughout the match .
The FA cup is not their bread and butter ( do they get extra pay ?) but about pride of performance and they all put in a shift .

2: Brentford - a title won in the most dramatic fashion
3: Wembley - Possibly our greatest win, but in truth we never looked like losing
4: Cardiff - First national cup final win including extra time drama

There are of course many other memorable moments, but IMHO these are the clear top four

None of those were in Doncaster. There have been truly memorable home moments as well, but I find it difficult to choose the top few.

2. Wembley
3. Stoke
4. Cardiff
5. Mansfield
6. Chester (a)
7. Villa
8. Barrow

Plenty more for me too, QPR, Southend (5-1), Crewe (h JPT), Liverpool (a), Everton (a)(Peter Reid), Man City, Charlton (a), Southend, cup (a)(Snodin 0-1) spring to mind.

Couldn't agree more Wolfie, a real sliding doors moment, the biggest pivotal moment in our club's last 65 years.

Just look at the success the club has had since 2003 compared with the 40 years before:

Highest league position in the league pyramid since 1901
Highest level league title ever won (FL1 is higher than regionalised Div 3 North)
First time at tier 2 since 1958
First national trophy (JPT)
Best ever FA Cup run (on the other occasions in the 1950's when we reached Round 5 we started at round 3)
Equalled best ever league cup run, and fared better in quarter final (lost on pens viz 2-7 defeat)
Although playoffs were introduced in 1987, we had never reached one before 2003
The two highest crowds to watch Rovers in our history (Wembley, Cardiff)   

How much of that would have happened if we had lost at Stoke?

Absolutely agree Wolfie. NOTHING Rovers have or will ever achieve in the future will eclipse that moment when Frannie scored THAT goal. It slammed the door on all the fear and heartbreak we had suffered from Richardson’s era. It felt like we were back in The Promised Land. It gave us the platform from which we have had so many heady achievements. Winning The Champion’s League would not give me the same thrill as that moment in Stoke!!

I remember Derby in the Championship so vividly as I had seen us play in Tier 2 and it meant the world to me but still eclipsed  (easily) by Stoke

I first watched Rovers in 1974/75 as a 7 year old, but I echo your choices after that DU. The away win at Wigan in the Freight Rover Trophy was memorable for the game and the mudslides.

That second half was incredible and when Biggo scored it was probably the loudest roar ever in the stadium.
