We need to get Joseph Olowu tied down pretty dam quick, I’m sure his agent will have a list of suitors waiting in the wings !

Surely no chance he signs a deal until he knows we are in L1. Even they he might not. Mismanagement by the club not giving him a new deal last season. Said for a long time, he’s our most valuable player. Huge error by McCann.

Without being pedantic, I’m pretty sure you said our most valuable player was / is Maxwell.

It perhaps Olowu that I said would skip L1 with his next move.

His life and family are down in London I imagine and while he seems to be enjoying life up here, who wouldn’t as a younger lad want to be back home near your mates. That must be a consideration for him.

Possibly yes. But pretty sure it’s Maxwell who you were of the view was the biggest asset as I remember agreeing with that view when he signed the new deal. May have been an incorrect judgement on my part too, but can’t rewrite history there.

Lol. Trump is having a good go at it though....

Removed all security clearances from an army general and fired a good number of federal lawyers this week. Their crime? Doing their duty. Trump believes that is inconsistent with his personal well being. Fascism is rising rapidly now.

No. Correct thread. The reference was to not being able to rewrite history. I suggested it is being rewritten before our eyes this very week.

According to GM no other incomings are planned unless some one gets injured in the next 2/3 days (his words)

For those wrongly (in my opinion) saying that Faulkner is not good enough, he is a year younger than Mcgrath. If you take Mcgraths record back a year the two records are very comparable and arguably Faulkner's record is better. It certainly isn't worse. Yes, Mcgrath has kicked on and is currently a more rounded player, but no reason at this moment in time to suggest Faulkner can not do likewise. I doubt he is on huge wages. We won't be giving him a three year contract, but I wouldn't be upset if we did. I believe he will be a valuable player in a couple of seasons for someone, hopefully us.

SS. I was warming to you before that crass, unobservant and stupid statement. The warmth has just disappeared.

He’s always as open (or at least appears that way to me) at his interviews & as you say he’s now decided (barring injury to key players) that the squad he has will take us through to the end of the season.

He was asked directly in the interview today whether Kyle Hurst might be going out on loan & he said along the lines of “..possibly. We have three or four players who would benefit from game time that might not necessarily get it here at present. One will be over the line today we think, but I can’t say who until both clubs have signed up, & if we can’t find clubs for others then they’ll stay & fight for a place.”

He was also asked about players contracts as they start to run out towards the season end especially Olowu & he gave a wry smile before adding “…were well aware of the situation with players contracts & it’s all in hand with negotiations just about completed.”

I think Joe Olowu will be here next season.
