Yet another pathetic Ref for McCann to endure
« on January 29, 2025, 10:16:27 pm by Donnywolf »
Listening to Barrow Commentary and they were saying they had got away with one

Barrow fans were texting in saying the same

To me 2 minutes gone Moly taken out by their Keeper and while I think it may have been outside area , and may not have been a Red it sure as hell was a foul

Yellow Card minimum , but Stockbridge bottles it , Clifton makes the 2nd tackle of the game 80 yards from goal with 1 minute 30 seconds gone and the a*** gets a Yellow out so quick it's a wonder he didn't break his wrist

Once again Stockbridge strikes BUT we took him out of the equation and I for one was chuffed to death

No issue with either of our bookings however he’s completely bottled the keeper taking Moly out. It’s Acquah fouls Ennis and then handballs it in. I have never been one to moan about refs but, this season has been a joke. Seems like every other game a massive decision goes against us.

My initial thoughts were a foul on Mols, just outside the area, the direction the ball went in does not give the impression the keeper got there first.

On replay still inconclusive but i'd say they got lucky.

For me can’t be 100% whether moly won the ball or their keeper got to it 1st even looking at replays

Their goal it also looks as though teddy has his aemrm pinned between the barrow players arm and their body, would say both 70-30 in favour of a foul but neither 100%

There is no way that Mols would have gone to ground under those circumstances if he hadn’t been brought down.
Definitely a foul and should be a red card for a DOGSO.

Just looked to me that the way the ball changed direction it had to have come off the keeper.

Thought their goal was terrible defending by us, their player was whipping in those in swingers all night, not once did we get a player between their strikers and TSL with enough strength to push the attackers away from the keeper, leaving the keeper hamstrung to go for the ball. The amount of times they attempted, it was inevitable they would get a goal from it. Even then it looked very dodgy but the clown in the middle was never going to get that right.

We needed to be far stronger in defence.

Alternatively, they put loads of corners right under the crossbar and we only conceded once.
We must have defended all the others really well.

If that was any other player than the GK the ref is blowing for a free kick and getting the cards out...and he's passing the cards out like Christmas cakes apparently (sorry I'm suffering PTSD from Mickey Walkers commentary and repeating his nonsensical quotes).

The keeper was going to ground because he knew he’d be outside the box, his tackle was high, dangerous & out of control. Any other player does a challenge like that anywhere else on the pitch & it’s a red all day.

I think we can take it as read that this was a typical sub-standard referee. Nothing should surprise us anymore, where L2 officials are concerned.

Can’t wait to get promoted so we only have to endure shite referees rather than utterly shite.

As it transpired that was the case, on another day we don't get so lucky. That ref was never going to protect the keeper.

Sorry to inform you, but Mr Stockbridge, operates chiefly in L1. On the scale that I use in judging referee performance this one did not really protect defenders on either side. He also obviously believed in handing out a couple of early bookings which were marginal to “encourage” all the players to take care - it was just unfortunate that they were ours. As for corners, it’s impossible to watch everyone in the box and I somehow imagine that if he’d seen the ball being ”handed” into the net, he would have disallowed it. It’s the likely explanation even though the decision seems as though it was probably wrong. Is there video evidence? It looked a long way away from the camera.

Even the Sky commentator said he handled it in.

What about their keeper NOT getting a red card for his reckless challenge on Mols?

L1 or L2 matters not one jot. He was like all the others - hopeless.

Keeper got the ball.

The keeper is in the ground his feet are high and he’s out of control, A red every day of the week

Outfield player does that in the middle of the pitch it's a straight red regardless of if he touched the ball. Pretty obvious really. Refs position wasn't great

Totally agree Filo.
Watched incident many times and the contact on the ball is not clear, however contact was high. I am sure you could see the mark high on mols shin when he was walking away.
On thing is certain, if a challenge like that had been by one of our players they would have seen red!

The majority of games he’s taken charge of this season have been in league one.

He also refereed our 2-0 win at Salford in the EFL Cup and upset the home side with a penalty decision he didn’t give.

Mrs Tfe has no interest in football at all , but even she commented "who passes Christmas cakes around" last night
