Perhaps for the best that this thread wasn't up and running. We've been shite.

Midfield is non existent. Just long balls leading nowhere.

Why does Grant insist on this formation every week?

Whenever we go 2 up top we pose much more of a threat?

Definition of insanity…

Trying the same thing,  over,  and over again expecting different results

Poor from midfield to up front no penetration. Gibson gave the ball away again trying to beat players and then they score.
Long balls why?
This is really poor.

We looked sharp for the first twenty minutes or so but failed to score, giving them time to work us out, which they have done. Since then they’ve been much bolder and it’s working for them. All our chances are wasted by poor shooting or fannying about with the ball until we lose possession. Very frustrating.

That was utter garbage!

Why do we always play like we are 2 or 3 goals up? No urgency, no plan, no attacking structure... Always relying on a breakaway or bit of magic... Looks like we in pre season the decision to persist with Gibson is quite frankly baffling

We don't score goals but never look like doing so either

Agree with the above, the midfield is none existent, we're just hoofing the ball over midfield to Ironside who has two defenders on him all the time, and two wide players nowhere near him. We have absolutely zero chance of scoring with that tactic especially as Grimsby have now gone to a back 5. How on earth can they play like they did last Monday against Premiership opposition and then be utter garbage 5 days later. I despair!

We should discuss tactics later, in the last 30 minutes of the half we lacked pace, tenacity, fight ... everything. Arse up the boot at half time needed.

I haven’t made it today so listening on radio. Surely Kelly needs to be on to drive us forward with pace? Would this be fair?
Clifton is a nothing player.

Every week we are getting progressively worse... Lacking any threat or invention, they are playing like its end of season middle of table dead rubber not the middle of a promotion race? That's the most concerning thing

Danny Rose took out Sterry well after the ball was gone

Questions need to be asked what McCann is doing with this team, where's the plan? What do we actually produce? We have no identity, we don't pass the ball well, we don't score goals, we don't defend particularly well, there's no energy or desire currently!

The whole game plan consists of passing the ball to a wasteful Sterry then Molyneaux cutting in on his left foot

It's atrocious at the moment
