Maxwell looked a different player yesterday, let's hope to see much more of that new version.

We have to take into account we were playing the worst team we’ve played this season. Everyone looking like they had great games is largely opponent dependent.

Doubtless the quality of opposition plays a part but that is more to do with the effectiveness of the team performance.  We've played plenty of teams this season who look terrible but against whom Maxwell has looked very poor.  My comment was specifically about Maxwell's performance in Saturday's game and without doubt it was as good as anything I've seen from him this season.

Yes your post was specifically about Maxwell however, their are some posters on here who would ‘paintbrush’ over that in order to diminish not only Maxwells performance but the whole team.

I don’t know why some have this tendency to be so negative especially when we’ve scored 3 goals, hit the ‘woodwork’  twice & kept a clean sheet.

Strange.

We were at it on Saturday. The intensity seems to have been getting better in recent weeks and we've been starting games better. I think on Saturday we kept that going for almost the whole game, which has been a rarity this season. It was good to see the likes of Sterry, Broadbent, Olowu, McGrath, Maxwell busting a gut to get to the ball first, and when we lost it, pressing hard to win it back quickly.

Of course this came against very poor opposition but hopefully it's a blueprint for the rest of the season. I think we need that intensity, otherwise we can look very ponderous.

I might have missed something but I'm surprised that the ref hasn't received a mention. I thought that he was very good in allowing play to continue instead of being conned. I was a little disappointed to see our MOM try one on by holding his head when the challenge was nowhere near.
