Surely GM has learnt some lessons from that today. Gibson, Clifton, and Ennis are not good enough. Kelly is the best attacking midfielder we have, and should start games.

I would add one or two more to that list including Ironside, Sharp & Broadbent. We really arent very good to watch at the minute.

Kelly has been good to the last few matches he’s played. Level above Clifton.

We missed Sterry today, and it wasn’t until the subs came on and Kelly particularly, did we begin to seize possession and have the confidence to drive forward; midfielders are not just there to relay the ball with a single touch. Lumping the ball upfield speculatively is just not good enough, especially when no one seems to find space to receive it, nor is the backward pass as exemplified by Nixon.

Getting the subs on immediately improved meaningful forward momentum. McCann’s strategy is bewildering. It was another game when energy and purpose were absent up to the series of substitutions. (For them, Bogle looked dangerous and it’s fortunate he was only brought on late in the game.)

We ran around chasing the game instead of slowing it down and tacking the pace out of Crewe’s momentum. Blaming the ref for poor decisions is just not managing the game . Putting 4 subs on in one go says that McCann got his tactic wrong again . We’re dropping too many points over all and our game by game performances has not improved beyond the mid table sides.

Make no bones about it McCann has not been great this season. I loved him last time he was here and thought he was a really good appointment but I certainly don’t rate him as highly now as I did before he rejoined. Got loads wrong this season. Praying we’ve saved the best till the end of the season.

Broadbent has improved massively over last 5 or 6 games!

I feel like he fell into the trap of trying to play like most Championship sides play, 4231 and slow, ponderous build up play.
Then after the Smalsall shit show, he's gone more direct.
Thing is, the squad he built this season isn't capable of playing either way, seems like a mish mash of playing abilities, or lack of in some cases.

"Smalsall shit show". That sounds like a real pervy blue film, Nudga.

Perhaps as supporters, particularly of a Division 4 side we can learn a few lessons. It’s not easy winning football matches… ask Bradford City and Notts County.
We are in the mix, we’ve got some unbelievable games to play, akin to play offs. Against Bromley and Swindon (and Newport) we’ve played much better on the whole. Today we had our entire defence out, we scrapped out a draw.

But that really cannot be used as a justification for what we saw today. We were sold 'a squad with 2 players for every position". We've spent a budget that's  supposed to be a promotion budget on signing exactly that. And it's not very good at all is it?
