I thought he had when he scored that late goal v Walsall
he did, I mean he still will before season end, come on and score the winner against Bradford, nailed on
I said he would score the winner nailed on, I said a man would be sent off today nailed on and I said 7 games ago we would win the league with 84 points nailed on

Sorry Upton but cant see Port Vale dropping points next weekend so that means we have to beat Notts c away to win league. Not sure that will happen but main objective achieved anyway.
it will happen,2-1 to Rovers

That was likely his final home game for us, and he scored the winner in the 90th minute. You couldn't write it really.
how so? I've just watched an interview where Billy says he wants to be here and Grant wants him here!
He'll be here next season

We’ve got to where we are now because of Rob Street. We need 2 strikers younger, stronger and more mobile than Billy.
Ironside is contracted for next season still too. We need to look to the future.

Even at 39 years old there's not another Rovers player in my time watching the club I'd have preferred to have seen with that opportunity to score a crucial promotion-clinching goal.

If that is his last game for Rovers in Donny - what a way to bow out!

If we needed a goal in the last 20 of a game next season then Billy is perfect to bring on.

Id love to see Billy taking up a player coach role with us. I see no reason he couldn't do another year as a squad player. It's not just on the pitch where players earn there wages. A good pro is so important for moral in the squad and helping the less experienced players. I think he will get another year in less his wage is silly. Grant will have a list for every position. I hope we get things done early so the squad get a full pre season together.  It's going to be a busy summer for incoming players and a few will be moving on.

Great to see (I think) it was his two sons in full Rovers kit on the pitch at the end.

I hope we keep him. He'll help us establish ourselves in a comfortable position in League One.

Put it this way, I'd much rather him be playing for us than the opposition.

We've beaten better than Notts. Bring it on.

Billy is well worth another season. If he had played more, he would have scored a few more. Still the best finisher at the club. Lee Trundle is still banging goals in and he’s forty eight., admittedly not at our level though.
Ice cool when he gets in those situations. Bradford went to sleep for a few seconds and it cost them.

Surely we have to consider him, less more likely as a squad player.
We are still a relatively young team and it likely we will have to bring in young loanees for next season.
Like others have said it’s not just about a massive amount of game time but someone with Billy’s experience and attitude would be invaluable. He’s a winner, and hates to loose, it seems like he has retained a good level of fitness, so probably not too much risk there.
We have heard from Grant many times how players like Richard Wood are invaluable to have around the squad even when they are not playing, seems like we have just been unlucky with his injuries, so always a risk you take.
It obviously suits Billy to be here local to home, and guess his wage demand may not  be a priority for him, more likely to be what we can offer so he can pursue his potential career after his playing days are over.

Hero to zero in 30 seconds what a f**king idiot, should be fined the maximum amount for that stupidity
he will still play 1 big part this season, guaranteed

How right you were but I bet you never imagined that winning goal….

Billy's not daft, and he wants to keep on playing because he loves it.  He knows he will have to accept wages relative to the level we're at otherwise he won't get to continue playing as he wishes.

Also relative to minutes on the pitch.

For me, either Sharp or Ironside leaves this summer.

Said to the lads I go to away games with as we all have split opinions…. Ask yourself this….. how many vital points has he earned us this season?

Gillingham winner
Bradford which turned out to be the winner.
Kettering
Fleetwood late winner
Walsall which should have been the winner
Yesterday

In my opinion off of the bench he has to be worth another season.

Sharp is gonna stay, he said in his post match interview that Grants already told him that he wants him next season.

We put £30 on him as last goal scorer but 365 voided it cause he didn’t start. Frustrating as we put it on after we knew he was on the bench.

Was over the moon when they scored and it stayed like that! Billy the king.

Good job it was voided.

He wasnt the last goalscorer

That doesn’t mean that if we’d have signed someone other Sharp that it would have been impossible for us to get points in those games.

The attack didn’t click until Street came in.

Doncaster’s very own Ben Parkinson has just changed his profile picture to an absolutely belting photo of him and Billy from last weekend. Really made me smile. Well worth a look on Bens FB.
