That random block in the north stand is pretty much sold out, surprised they've not opened another

It's for away only think they have only asked for two blocks which we have given n40 & n41 so I don't know if they have already sold one block out

Two crucial home games left lads 'n lasses.
Let's turn out in numbers to be that '12th man' and roar the lads on.

The noise generated at the last few away games has been magnificent.
Let's try and replicate some of that at the Eco-Power today and next Saturday.

Come on you Reds!!

I think this has got draw written all over it. We are virtually guaranteed to concede at least 1 goal, because we have done so against every top half team this season. But we’re also pretty good at making sure we score at least 1 at the Eco Power.

i forgot to mention Colchester also missed a last minute penalty against Crewe -  i only found that out when I watched the highlights

I haven't see that mentioned on here

funny that we finally get one and PV also miss one in the last minute.

ncRover probably out of  our reach but Zac Abbott and Ben Perry are the ones we could do with on loan from Notts Forest if we go up.

Wouldn’t say McDonnell would be out of our reach for a loan deal next year.

I like Tovide up top for them too, powerful young player.

Keep an eye on young McDonnell in defensive midfield for them. Been one of the best in the division.
Northern Irish and on loan from Forest so wouldn’t be surprised if he was with us next season.

He’s a proper player. I put him forward for a certain SPL club a few weeks ago.

Incredible day results wise. Beat Bradford for a guaranteed auto. Or maybe a draw will be enough if results are kind to us?

We did easily over 8k home supporters today. That’s pretty good. 8936 gate with 633 from Colchester.

By my reckoning I don't think Colchester had a touch of the ball in our box until the 48th minute.  They had two first half corners and don't think either of them found one of their men.

A defeat will be enough if Walsall lose.!

Credit to the Colchester fans today. They never stopped singing despite being completely outplayed and their promotion hopes potentially being on the line.

I’ve mellowed since then DW

Bet you've un mellowed after that display

I've not seen anything like the Sterry tackle late on which went out for a goal kick.  The ref gave the GK , their player jumped up and spread his arms in appeal and the Ref changed his mind and gave a Free kick to Colchester

I also reckon the second Yellow the ref gave to their 21 was given ONLY  (imo) because the Ref didn't realise he was already on  a Yellow

The follow through looked nasty and premeditated and a possible Red. Only the crowd baying alerted the Ref to " action needed" though

Having given a Yellow he had to be told that 21 had a Yellow already

Imo , he was pathetic throughout the game

Correct DW he was pants the way he wagged his finger at some of the players
How could he have forgotten booking the 21.

Colchester fans were excellent by the way, couldn’t help but laugh at Cowley trying to get them wound up and not getting a reaction

Thought our concentration levels today were excellent along with our discipline. No unnecessary fouls and held our shape for the most part. As others have said, a complete performance.

The pitch looked alot better today which helped our passing game.

More of the same next week please.

No one seems to have mentioned their chance in the 1st half, simple throuh ball man running on, luckily TSL was aware to chest ot away. A couple of times same simple ball out wide man totally free.

I've been critical at times this season of us not adapting to the opposition tactics but I thought we were tactically spot on yesterday. Let them have the ball and hit them quickly when gaps open up. I don't know the stats but I suspect getting the first goal against them is important so they can't sit in and frustrate. We were very controlled after the two goals and other than a 5 min spell in the 2nd half it felt like we kept them at arms length.

Last two games we've really stepped it up after some frustrating performances where it felt like we just didn't have enough to turn the draws into wins.

Good to break the "not beating anyone in the top 7" hoodoo, and hopefully that gives us a bit of confidence going into the last two.

But we have beaten teams in the top seven this season before yesterday.
Port Vale, Grimsby and Bradford.

I didn't say anywhere that we hadn't.

It's something we hadn't done for a while and it felt like the elephant in the room heading into some of these tough fixtures.

It must be something about Essex teams supporters that they get behind their team. We saw that from Southend supporters in the L1 playoffs, they were 5-1 down and still getting behind their team and doing the gonga. At the end of the game our supporters went down to their end and applauded their fans, it was very moving.

I’d never seen that at a football match before, nor since, never mind being at the front of it myself..

I thought the Southend lot took to the pitch after the final whistle and headed to the Rovers end. Much mutual backslapping towards our end - after a brief frisson of trepidation.

Or not?

No, we went towards them.  The police and stewards stopped folks from going further than the edge of the penalty area.  Not close enough to shake hands but near enough to see faces properly.
