The big difference this last season was the away form.

The Home form has been fairly consistent - 46, 44 and 43 points

His first two seasons the away record was identical - W7, D6, L10 - 27 points

But this year has been a terrific 41 points, and only twice have we ever had more than this year's 12 away wins in a season - our wonder season of 1946-47 (W18, D1, L2), and the Copps winner at Brentford season 2012-13 where that match was our 15th away win that season (W15, D4, L4)

Those stats are pretty stellar. If some bugger notices them we're going to get callers again one day.

If the club/Terry back him I don't think he would jump again. GM has been clear he isn't in L1 to make numbers up and wants to push on, as all the fans want to see. We have a manager here that can take us to the championship.

The question is how far can/will TB match Grants ambitions. He backed him this year, hopefully it will continue....but that's easy to say for us as we aren't stumping up the millions.

Grant was very quick to declare his aims to win the league this season, pretty much straight after the defeat to Crewe. What, or who, gave him the confidence and belief to say that?

Already, he's said we aren't going into League One to make up the numbers. Already we're having new facilities built at the training ground. There will be some improvements at the stadium too.

Maybe a better question is, can we fans back TB and GMs ambitions?

I think their enthusiasm will only wain if we don't show up in numbers. Even if we wobble here and there, as long as we remain patient and stick with it, so will GM.

I don’t think Grant would make a statement about next season without already having had advanced talks with Terry and Gavin.

His main ethic is teamwork and the recruitment team seems to be fully integrated into that strategy judging by the January loanees and now Gotts .

IMO McCann will be judged this season more than any other . Recruiting a squad of players bedding them in all takes time and luck that you’ve got the right man . With seven players maybe more having left or returned leaves a lot of recruitment to be done and a striker has to be a number one target . Our defence got us promoted along with Rob Street . I am never optimistic where players signings are concerned as we’ve lent too much on loans and the squads suffered from under use with players going out on loan and never ever playing more than the odd game . Spend the cash some McCann and give us something to build a season around !!
