Reverse psychology
« on June 13, 2025, 06:57:35 pm by Branton Rover »
Many times previously we’ve signed prolific goal scorers for example Carl Alford who from memory had scored 38 goals in 32 appearances for Stevenage and then he joined us and was struck by the curse where he scored one goal in 19 appearances. Justin Jackson had a similar record to Alford then he signed for us.

I’m hoping Brandon Hanlan can do the above but in reverse. If anyone can give him confidence in front of goal it’s McCann.

The way he performed I think it was Carl from Halfords who we signed!

We're no longer at a level where we can just buy better players and let their superior quality get results. We have to be smarter, take educated risks on signings who maybe haven't got the goals elsewhere, but have the underlying numbers that show they can be effective when playing a certain way in our system.  Between Wilks, Ironside, Adelakun, Sharp, and Street Mccann has a decent record in identifying and improving forward players, so let's hope Hanlan is his latest.
