See they are now trying to push this 'britcard' or known as the Digital ID card.

If anyone has any sense they should be avoiding this like the plague.

In the long run it's my belief they're inevitable. Lots of reasons but the noticeable trend over this last 25 years of increasing state control of individuals continues to grow whilst the external environment is pointing ever more directly to a 'fortress Europe' and it's associated mentality. Those two reasons alone are more than enough to make ID cards loom ever larger in the minds of the political class.

Personally, I loathe the idea. But then, not even passports were necessary before 1920 so the trend towards more control has been growing for a century now.
