Surely no chance Billy hanging up his playing boots yet, been fantastic this season, so far. That glancing header on Saturday was close, & defending our box from corners too....

No way Jose.

If not Wilder they’ll go for what the board believes to be the ‘biggest profile’ manager they can get.

Why, because they’re a group of  ‘I want Premiership Football’ yesterday no all, no nothing’s.

Billy has gone from a 2nd choice bit part player in League Two to the main man playing 90 mins regularly in League One. We know he thrives in the bigger games/grounds. He ain't leaving that for a coaching role

I think the first part of your post sums up where our issues are going to come from this season.

Ruben Sellés must be going for some kind of short stay record. Don’t think he’s lasted more than 6 months in charge of any of his clubs. Must have some agent.

How long was he at Dull City? That feels like his longest stint.

I think his time at Reading was his longest spell. I could be wrong though, not checked.

No. Apparently he’s a ‘real high class operator’.

Bit like a crane driver.

Joined July ‘23 then hopped it to Hull in December 24 (Wiki)
Seemed to do ok at Reading but an absolute mess elsewhere.

Very much a players coach who was here when everything backing the first team at the time was wrong. he was a pleasure to watch working with the u18s, a team who because of Covid never had a chance with some good players that could have done well.
The coaching side of the academy under Tony Cook and the quality of the coaches were up there with the best at that time and we competed well with a lot of clubs that had much more going for them at that time and were strong throughout most of the age groups.
Right person wrong time, and a very nice person off the field of play.
That is not taking away anything form our present set up by the way who are just as committed and good coaches and work very hard to get the best out of the lads here, and fortunately for them have more backing from above and interest in how things are going. We were a ship wreck of a club at that time.
Despite all that going off he was a big influence in Bobby Faulkner, Will Flint, and Sam Brown, Max Adamson in Australia and  Jack Goodman pushing on when a lot here and at other clubs struggled with the situation of football being suspended,

We had a deputy Chairman who ran the show and no interest if things didn't have four legs, the FA cut money we were budgeted for when Sunderland and Null City were given money other clubs including ourselves were promised it amounting to putting clubs on the brink to save two who had been in the Premiership.
And inherited a shit show from Moore that the two previous managers struggled to overcome.
Ironic that all three have had success since, Wellens especially and Butler both getting promotions on their CV and now Gary getting a plum assistants job because of the players he has already steered through from the u21s to first team football at Sheffield United.
We really did have some right no marks in Blunt, and the ID recruitment who anyone on the terraces would have been better job in positions that could do so much damage and reflect on other people.

Your analysis may not be perfect and of course from where we are, we don’t have the inside knowledge, but it is pretty stark and you have to question the man who was at the top. It was a pity that the CEO, at what turned out to be an extended period of decline, decided (or was he instructed?) to concentrate on Club Doncaster when he was desperately needed to keep the football side on track. It was also regrettable that there was reluctance to publicly acknowledge the difficulties at the time; the denials were hollow.
