PDX…great shout. Out of the blue ( sports report)…It’s Saturday, it’s 5 0’clock it’s time for sports report & the football scores read by James Alexander Gordon….happy days. As a Donny fan you had a few minutes extra to get to the car as we were always in the bottom two divisions.
Loved James Alexander Girdon doing the results. With his tone of voice you could tell if the result was a home win, away win, or a draw!

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be
Here's a good bit.... my Forest mate bought me tickets to see this on Boxing day - expecting us to get a spanking..... We left at 4:1 (to Rovers) and their manager got sacked that evening. Unfortunately I had to attend his burial that same man this week...... but I enjoyed recalling the day to his Forest mates that attended...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUUq0YvHfCg
After that Boxing Day match I went into my local and there was hardly anyone in apart from a couple of lads I knew and a very attractive girl sat on her own, after about ten minutes the young girls dad walked into join her. At which point one of the lads stood up and at top of his voice said “Ding dang do, f*** me, it’s Eric Pollard “ well it was Chris Chittell, he just blanked him and ordered a drink. Nothing to do with Rovers or football but it happened that day.

He went out of his way to talk to all of the supporting artistes, including the extras.
Watching football on teletext Something kids now will never understand
