Looks an interesting one, there is going to be a lot of competition in the back 4 now. How good are Bohemians? I don't know, but he obviously made an impression on GM! being young we have a lot of pace available at centre half with our crop.

The captain of Bohemians FC is Keith Buckley , he’s Conor McGregor’s cousin

Is it a gamble?  His Carlisle loan wasn't great and hard to know how he did in Ireland. 3 years is a long contract too.

But he is our player and he can be moulded into the system. A good age too

Grant knows his own mind and is more knowledgeable than any poster. If he thinks this lad is worth the investment and the 3 year deal I back that decision 100%.

Grant McCann and his team (with support from above) has turned us from absolute garbage to Champions, think he knows what he’s doing. I know this is a forum for opinions but the folk in charge of our club are light years ahead of us very simple posters, struggling to comprehend some stuff on here. Welcome new lads, you’ve chosen very well.

Not sure what your intentions are with this comment - are you being critical or complementary?  Bohs are 2nd in the league, behind Shamrock

We at least need cover on the left and apparently he can play left back as well, let's hope first and foremost he can tackle and defend tight in the area, we could be playing much more in that part of the field of play this season than last against better, quicker, more direct forwards.

The League of Ireland Premier is a much improved standard these days and a Bohemians fan on a broader football messageboard I frequent says Grehan has been one of Bohs' players of the season so far. Notably he didn't see the move as being any kind of surprise.

Viva, I have watched quite a lot last season and this on TV its miles behind the National League and also the National League North in England as teams in my and friends honest opinions when watching and having discussions on the subject.
Its very much more long ball in most teams play and doesn't seem to have the same zip and variations on style of play the leagues over here has.
There are some decent individuals in it though, but the standard of ball retention and  passing is poor with most games being very helta skelta.

The League of Ireland is better than The Irish Premiership, and that standard is the lower reaches of National League North but with real mesters playing it .
A big percentage of League of Ireland players are full time professionals especially at the top end of the league

He captained the Republic of Ireland under 21s against Croatia earlier this month.

Surely must have considerable talent to do that.

Draytonian III there were a fair number of full time teams in the National North last season and only Chorley were a part time side that got to the play offs I think.
The wages some teams pay is up there with some EFL clubs.

I live in Dublin and have been a Shamrock Rovers season ticket holder for nearly 30 years. I've seen Grehan play in the matches against rovers but overall he's done well according to reports. As someone who follows both the English and League of Ireland for donkeys years, I find it hard to compare the standards. Sometimes it looks great and other times awful but let's be honest, we can say the same about Doncaster. There's some great talent in the league of Ireland though and the clubs are managing to hold on to a lot of players a bit longer now as under 18s can't sign for English teams now since Brexit. As a result, some of Ireland's best up and coming talent are playing in Italy now. This year Shamrock Rovers only missed out on automatic qualification to the last 16 of the Europa Conference league on goal difference before losing a play off on penalties. A great achievement.

Not playing this eve - hasn't been in the previous two games. Presumably out in Donny having a beer or two.

He was on loan to them from Palace, he no longer plays for Palace so isn't on loan with them anymore. He left Bohs on the 15th June.

Shels will be disappointed they didn't kill the tie off. Were much better than Linfield.

Second leg 1-1 so Mipo and Shelbourne go through to next Champions League qualifying round. David Healy and Linfield go out.
