Hmm, I noticed Pearson gave away a penalty (handball) in the final practice game in Spain. Let's hope this doesn't become a habit.

We are level courtesy of Damola Ajayi. Billy Sharp spun onto a pass into the box and drilled a shot which was parried by Alfreton keeper George Willis. Owen Bailey saw his follow-up blocked but the ball sat up nicely for Ajayi to slam in from 12 yards.

Quote 3.   1
Another goal for Rovers, this time through Brandon Hanlan. Luke Molyneux powers in off the right and drills a low effort which is blocked on the line and squeezed out, only as far as Hanlan, who slams in.

Siberia is playing in a deeper role like crew did last season  and playing some good balls

And there’s me thinking he’d been frozen out of the squad!

Hopefully Grant won’t give him the cold shoulder this season

McCann on absences:

"Jamie (Sterry) woke up with a stiff groin. It's nothing too serious but we didn't want to risk him.”

“Robbie (Gotts) has got bad blisters on every toe, the kind of which I've never seen before. We left him yesterday and tonight but he'll be fine for Saturday.”

“And as for Joe (Ironside) he's a little bit behind the group in terms of fitness levels and sharpness. He missed the whole off-season programme because he's carrying a little problem in his pubic bone area from last season which got infected. He's frustrated with it. He trained single sessions in the first week but didn't in the second. And then last week in Spain he trained all the double sessions every day so he's probably four or five session behind and we'll just get him sharper before we involve him."

He certainly didn't look out of place and looks a real prospect.

You may get the score and some updates from FlashScore

https://www.flashscore.co.uk/match/football/2Va7Ba3C/#/match-summary

Flashscore saying 2-1 rovers so wouldn't rely on this pre season!
