Getting back to the competition I think England have every chance v Spain and think that the England v Italy a far better standard game than Germany v Spain.
If the referee clamps down on Spain's use of the professional foul England's movement up front can get at them.

Couldn't compete in NLN or NLS

Not interested, not sure why others are.

I believe in equality 100%.

I don't like horseracing, but I wouldn't go on a horseracing thread or forum to announce that, because it's not going to change anyone's mind, and would just make me look daft. Get the picture?

As regards standard of football, have a good think about what you were paying money to watch at the Rovers a few years back.

Ridiculous comments by Ryaldinhio but I can’t be bothered to offer a counter-argument so well done to those who have.

I’m in Spain so I’m looking forward to watching the final in the hotel bar!

As Pancho I can't be bothered to offer counter arguments either. I'm not here to argue.

Hope you all carry on enjoying a form of the game that I don't enjoy.

I didn't mean to offend.

Will you be in the majority or minority as an England supporter, Pancho?

I quite enjoy watching the women's game, the quality of the football and skill has improved immeasurably.
What I can't abide is the bloody awful women commentators.

Funny that, I can't abide awful male commentators either. I guess it comes down to personal choice rather than a competence thing.

Credit due to you Ryaldinhio, everyone to their own.

The women’s game is very different to the men’s but I’ve come to really enjoy it.

We’ve only been in the hotel since Tuesday Steve but there seems to be quite a mix of nationalities.
Certainly some Brits but also Dutch and German as you might expect.

But there are lots of Spaniards too so it could make for a lively atmosphere!

Agree.
Getting so bored of football commentary. We now seem to have a Commentator and 2 other pundits (jobs for the boys and girls) uttering the bleeding obvious and loving the sound of their own voice.
Just one commentator please. We can actually see what’s going on and don’t need 3 voices booming out what we know already.

I have not been a regular watcher of women’s football but from what I have seen at this tournament I don’t agree that there is a huge difference in technical quality - certainly not as big as some on this thread have claimed.

If you look at some of the goals scored, on average I can’t remember seeing better quality goals scored in the national league, or even league 2 for that matter.

The old argument “well they’d get beat by a men’s team” is irrelevant, there is obviously a physical advantage that women cannot overcome through no fault of their own. It’s like saying women’s boxing is shit because they wouldn’t beat a male boxer.

Got to agree with that. Vicky sodding Sparks just sounds like an Alan Partridge impersonator. Otherwise all for it. Women can’t run the hundred metres as quickly as the men but it doesn’t demean the event or the achievement.

Being both a grumpy old man and a closet misogynist I have always thought women playing football is like a dog walking on it's hind legs, it is never done properly and should not be done at all. And I can't stand hearing women commentating on men's football. Or cricket.

My post was hyperbole Lincs, I am looking forward to watching today's final. Mind you, probably like most of us here I would not be watching it if Rovers were playing at the same time.

Apart from the Qatar World Cup, the major tournaments are in the off season.  Silly statement really.

Contender for today’s JCB award..

I’ve got a perfect seat in front of the big screen in an Irish Pub in Calpe, Costa Blanca.
Amstel £3.50 per pint.

That’ll do

Whatever the team selection, we're going to have our work cut out. Lauren James fortunate to be selected, particularly with injury concerns but she needs to step up to the plate. Looks like we'll have to sit deep and go long quite often, hope to stay in the game until the last quarter, then hit them with our super subs.
