And only now, do they start using the power they have at their disposal...

"“The Star understands that the EFL is planning to take control of some of the club’s finances in order to pay their creditors.

“The League have the power to pay the club’s creditors, including players, staff and other clubs owed money, rather than sending TV money and other such amounts to the club itself. That is believed to be one the next steps that could be taken.”

Should have happened when they didn’t pay the staff a 2nd time, 1st time things happen a warning any business can be effected but a 2nd time action should and needs to be taken

Hi DKN

Churchill once remarked that "Once is an accident. Twice is a coincidence. Three times is enemy action".

Given the number of times Wednesday have failed to pay wages this last year or three, you'd think the FL might have already taken note of what he said....

It's as if he wants them off the wages bill but know one will leave when they have a contract,so he he says we'll I will just not pay you so you walk away for free and you have to find a new club yourself and I will keep the players I want

Ye Gods!

The BBC are reporting that since Chansiri took control of Wednesday in 2015, the club has lost £178 million!!

That's an average of almost £18 million a year for 10 years...

That alone should disqualify him from ever going anywhere near any football club ever again.

Dontcha just love the FA and the FL. Eyes wide shut for 10 years.

What's the Rovers annual budget?  5 or 6 million? Wednesday are a league higher, (sometimes) but with far, far greater TV and gate money. They have LOST about three times the TOTAL annual budget of the Rovers every year for 10 years whilst achieving nothing. In the meantime, the Rovers, on a tiny fraction of their budget, thrive. That is simply astounding financial mismanagement.

Maybe he's asking £100M cos he's got a great big target on his back if he can't recover enough....

Reminiscent of Richardson upping the price every time someone thought they had agreed?

All a bit fishy.

I guess they are going to have to get a tuna'rt of the juniors if the unpaid pros don't play.

Wednesday under Chansiri went totally crazy for a few years around 2017-2021 when most of those losses were accrued. They booked a £38m loss in 2018 alone, and then £28m in 2019. He obviously ran out of cash after that period and has dramatically cut the losses to around £7m in more recent seasons. Wage bill in 2018 was a colossal £42m and is now down to around £15m. Whoever is in charge of their player monetisation must have worked for us because since 2010 they’ve only made around £19m of player profit.

He paid £38m for Hillsborough and they pay him almost £3m year rent. Think our deal is 100k year.

Bannan is good for another season, get him signed

Oddly, just today signed a new deal for them. Hope he asked for money up front.
