Well he played like that against Blackpool last week, so no reason why not. I thought the two cb's were quality for this level, pretty much won every header, & Jay to come in too.

I was surprisingly impressed by Broadbent today but Middleton was our stand out player.

Robbie Gotts put a hell of a shift in after he came on. We’ve certainly got some grafters in there, we just need that bit of extra quality to join the crew!

O'Riordon definitely looked comfortable, being pretty composed throughout. When players look like they've got time, it suggests a higher footballing IQ. The only little error was when he got carried away on a forward run, tried to do a pirouette and got caught on the ball. Generally a good calming influence.

Pearson, a no nonsense keep it basic centre half which we also need.

On Gotts, last week, the game passed him by, but this week he was more involved so early days to be coming to any conclusions.

Middleton. Great crossing ability. Should be more involved at set pieces and would also like to see him coming inside, as with Moly, to mix it up a bit.

Adding Ajayi into the mix as well is likely to cause defences some headaches.

There's bags of potential when these lads really settle in and start showing what they're about. Hopefully more quality will become evident.

Hoping Pearson can really read the game because to me he looked very ponderous but at the end of the day we kept a clean sheet.
Mols could do with getting some tips from Middleton (who along with O’Riordan and Broadbent were immense) on crossing

Don’t worry about Mols.
He had an off day, who doesn’t, but he will do more than enough as the season progresses.

He didn’t really have an off day imo. Just a couple of poor crosses he still committed the opposition and created some of our best chances including the one Ajayi put in the only place where he wouldn’t score.

Shows how high his bar is when we’re saying it’s a bad game. Calm down a bit on the crosses and just go again. It’ll be good to see him and Middleton against teams that don’t pack the defence so deep

I agree, what with Middleton on one side (hugely impressed with him!) and Mols on the other, peppering the goal with quality crosses we should create loads of chances. Now it just needs someone getting on the end of them!

Well, there were two glaring chances. First when Gotts blazed over from Middletons cut back (we've seen Clifton and Mols convert identical chances last season), then Ajayi on the end of Mols cut back. Had either or both gone in then it would have been more comfortable. Taking these chances make such a difference without having to change very much.

You do wonder how some people differentiate between food and dog shite when they are preparing a meal.

He was nowhere near his usual self yesterday.
As you say, he did attract the attention of two defenders whenever he received the ball, and that happened from minute one of the game.
It happens in almost very game.

I think we've seen before, in tight games he seems to try too hard when his composure takes a hit. He puts alot of expectations on himself. He improved in the latter stages plus enough to put the penalty away.

I also think Molls may have been watching the crosses Middleton puts in with such pace and accuracy, and think he was maybe trying to replicate that.
 There is no issue with Molls, he will in my opinion end up being one of the best performers in this league.

We will have bigger tests than Exeter, Cardiff looked very impressive for a young side, but they do give teams chances b6 the looks of it - going forward though they look like they will have too much for most

O'Riordan was fantastic and what a lovely bloke too, I had a chat with him after the game. Pearson too. I thought we looked very well organised and I particularly loved our management of the game at the end, its usually clenched bums and holding on but they didn't threaten at all. |Good performance against a very disappointing Exeter team. Well done all.

Broadbent by the way is some player.
