Just reading this and it’s made feel a little bit sick if truth be told. The level of the violence described deserves nothing less than custody for those involved. If you are on this forum and you were involved in this disgrace, be man enough to hand yourselves in - although I doubt very much they’d have the bottle. Utter scum bags that should never be allowed to step foot in our stadium again.

For those of us with children of our own, I can only imagine how the victims parents are feeling.

This, totally! My daughter is 18 and her boyfriend is a notts county ST holder. Much to my disappointment (I invited her to rovers plenty of times!), she has started going to games with him and something like this makes my blood run cold. Imagining the poor lads mum & dad receiving a phone call back home after their 18yr old kids travelled all that way to watch their team play a game of football & ending up in hospital. It just shouldn’t happen! I’m not letting this go, something needs to be done.

I bet this game didn’t even get Policed, last season we had 11 fans arrested in total, I doubt Exeter had many more. It will have been rated really low in relation to Risk.
The Club Safety Officer should have sorted this!

Not sure how the club safety officer can do owt to prevent what goes on outside the stadium environment.?

It's probably very highly likely that anyone perpetrating football violence actually went to the game. Stop them going to the game and you largely stop this. Every ticket is bought by a named individual these days.

Surely offenders have to be identified as offenders before the club can ban them.?

I’m in agreement with bans for these scrotes, but lads can’t just be banned in advance for appearing maybe to be cocky young lads.?

Heavy but appropriate punishments for those morons who perpetrate these crimes should in theory act as a deterrent to others.?

They were definitely at the game and were walking towards car park 3. Actually at the car park 2 entrance the same group of morons were abusing the one police officer stood there (he disappeared quickly & was nowhere to be seen later). I thought he was going to arrest one of them as they were getting quite loud & approaching him - at one stage he dragged one of them and pushed him along the path. He can’t possibly have expected them to walk away quietly after that but nothing was done to follow them or keep an eye on them, which might have prevented this attack.

Agreed, but there were a couple of young Donny fans there who knew them and gave the police their names. Having watched the vloggers footage and seen the girls photos the officers attending also knew them and said they were known to them as troublemakers, so absolutely no reason they shouldn’t be banned from attending games and hopefully receive custodial sentences - although I doubt they’re old enough to go to a men’s prison even if convicted!

Club needs to come down hard on this type of behaviour otherwise it’s more fans lost. Parents can’t bring their kids when this type of nonsense is going on.

I will never go to an away game again due to both the number of scrotes that follow our club and the violence which maybe not as bad as it was in the 80's, but has never gone away and quite frankly I can't comprehend.

Simply not a safe environment to take my little boy.
Well said. Like you I've stopped going to away matches as its an embarrassment. I also note that you're message didn't include foul language that some use OK with the odd letter missing. Possibly a case of hypocrisy ?

Think Gavin needs to be aware of what happened yesterday, scumbags need banning for life.

I'm sure any videos will be appearing on social media before long.

Shithouse tactics if you ask me, bullying exeter fans and claiming a result.
Now try it against cardiff

Crikey Tony....  You're spot on there. Along with Millwall, Cardiff supporters gave me the two most frightening football experiences I've ever had.

I really do hope, first, that the damage inflicted is repairable and will be so asap, and two, that the gits who did this come across a few folk who don't like them. Utterly shameful.

And even if they do what does that solve? I agree that these vermin will choose their fights but….. it’s football we are there for. Get there and get home SAFELY. End of story

I don’t particularly like swearing but it’s neither here nor there compared to the issue raised in this thread. Hope the aggressors are caught and heavily punished, there’s no place for it.

Well done lincs rover for your efforts with others to give evidence to help seek sorting these thugs once and for good.  Will those in the position to deal with this in a positive and effective manner do anything.?.?.?  We maybe will see.

We need to exert a level of pressure to ensure that they do. I’m confident that they will deal with it though.

The point about this putting off supporters from attending (either home or away) is an important one.

They obviously don’t realise the potential consequences of 2 minutes of stupidity that can affect the rest of their lives for when the police catch up with them.
There’s no doubt that the injuries and experience of the victims will stay with them for the rest of their lives and the aggressors will be penalised and it could hamper a good career for them if they had any potential talent or skill.
Just for curiosity, I would like to see if it was the youths that I had seen previously were the  perpetuators of the attack.

I know you don’t like swearing but that’s irrelevant and incomparable to the violence.

Completely agree, but it looked like some on here were implying that potential trouble makers should be banned, before they had actually done owt wrong.

Those from yesterday, throw the book at them. This needs nipping in the bud.

I do intend following this up with the club on Monday morning when the office opens again but if anyone has GBs contact details or someone appropriately senior at the club I can communicate this to I would be very grateful.

I don’t think this is the last we’ll hear of this - the vlogger chap reckons he’s got lots of followers (?), and this will undoubtedly appear on social media, giving us a bad reputation which affects supporters (home & away) but also ensures troublemakers from other clubs we play might be encouraged to target us. A total mess either way.

Firstly very sad to hear of this and I hope those poor, real supporters of Exeter City are on the mend. After living in Cornwall for 30 years I went to Exeter many times, great, club great support.
Clearly Rovers need to investigate and liaise with police over the next week or so about this unacceptable infestation of our club.
So after a week or so …..DONCASTER ROVERS (my club) What are you going to do about this?
We have supporters saying they no longer wish to travel due to this infestation in our support base.
We have supporters saying they see this infestation every home game.
We have supporters saying , even the Police know of the infestation.
So!! DONCASTER ROVERS what are you going to do?
I think there are people on this forum (Silent M??) who have some clout. Well, it’s time to use that Clout and ensure that our club know that it’s real supporters are totally disgusted with THE INFESTATION. Totally ruined the 1st day of the season and I’m 1500 miles away!

LincsRover, well done for raising this and for stating you are not letting it go.
When you contact Gavin please highlight the level of support you have received on the forum.
It’s time for action by the club, someone questioned if the safety officer has any involvement? Given the actions of this group generally starts around the perimeter of the stadium, then I suggested that yes he possibly needs to be involved. At the end of every game, this group leave the south stand and head straight to the West /North corner, which is where this latest incident started.
There is no doubt that it’s the same group, so needs sorting.

I hope the club get details of the 2 lads involved and make contact with them.

Sorry forgot to add, the fact that a supporter (Lincs, in this case) has to ask for contact details and who should be contacted when having footage/photos/seen something that is unacceptable is just poor in itself. Rovers should be offering supporters clear details (on screens/pitchside/on season tickets/match day program ( if they still exist) of how to feedback inappropriate behaviour and who to send to.
So that’s something else to sort under “Fan Engagement”.

The issue first raised is a disgrace. Usually you hear about it and not care because usually it's like minded people wanting a scrap on both sides. Sounds like the opposite here and these lads have been cowardly targeted. Cretins. More than likely won't be at the reverse fixture either.

Not sure about the away games thing though, bar the local derbies Rovers fans behave well and even at local derbies the majority do. I wouldn't consider Rovers anywhere near the likes of some of our close rivals for cretins following the club

Very helpful, fyi  I’ve just finished 2hours of tennis in 30 degrees so your way off the mark.
But yes, put off another day let someone else deal with it. Poor of you!.
Don’t do Stella here and it’s 3.80€ actually for a beer , just to keep you up to date and pull you out of the 80’s.

I had said on an earlier post that the youth that was near me as we were nearing car park 3 had read a message on his phone, I’m assuming that it was from an Exeter fan that wanted to scrap with him.
Is it TikTok or is it another app where they contact each other to arrange the fisticuffs?
I’m not saying that the lads deserved a good hiding, but they must know the risks of meeting up with other idiots of opposing fans.
