Absolute shocker - was he playing by his own rules?

I read it was his 2nd league 1 game. As far as i am concerned a stupid appointment for what is basically local derby>The Efl/Fa whoever really need to look at this. I appreciate Refs have to learn but the start of last season we seemed to have so many newbies to the efl it was stupid. I can't comment as such I wasn't  there. They need to allocate experienced refs to this type of fixture and gradually ease the less experienced into what could be full blooded local derbys

Agree with the above and with roversdude

The bloke looked way out of his depth and DID seem to have his own Rules in his head

Did he know about 30 seconds for players leaving field ? Did he know how added time worked.

I was perlexed watching him " in action" or should that read his "inaction"

First nil of the Season

Felt a bit sorry for Mansfield though when their player went off, he was off about 2 minutes.

Agree , hence my questioning his knowledge of 30 seconds.

I thought 4th official supervised the 30 second " countdown " but it looked like Ref was using the old " player can come by when I judge it safe or neutral phase"

They may know between them

One thing for certain , the Ref Assessor WILL have noticed and will comment. Just a pity we don't get to see that

Wonder if freedom of information can be invoked but doubt it
