Loan players latest games

Not the greatest of news Sam Straughn Brown played for Peterborough Sports on Saturday v early leaders Merthyr and according to the line up played out of position, whether that was the case is hard to find out, but was subbed after 31 minutes and could have taken a knock.
Last night he was unused sub v local rivals Leamington in a 0-0 draw,
Last Saturday Will Flint Came on against Eastleigh in a 2-0 away win but only for two minutes plus extra time, after playing against Newcastle u21s in mid week but again out of position at right back. but did well but not his best position.
Kyle Hurst played the full game v Newcastle and especially in the first half was the best man on the field attacking wise made a goal after beating his man out wide and worked hard covering back in the second half when Newcastle took over mid field, I was surprised to see he was sub on Saturday after showing up well. probably tactical as he came on after 72 minutes probably to get the ball upfield when winning 2-0
Bobby Faulkner was unused sub at Cambridge for Harrogate on Saturday even after his MOM against Lincoln City in the cup mid week although Harrogate surprisingly to me after watching pre season games  are still unbeaten in the league.
Last night against Barrow he at last got his league debut with Harrogate as a substitute coming on in the eightieth minute plus six minutes  time added when Harrogate were desperately defending a 1-0 lead.
To quote his manager, "he came on because we were defending deeper and deeper, and he beats up anything in front of him" which is exactly what he did being really on his game blocking and getting something on most balls played into the area by Barrow who were pushing for an equaliser.
So he is adding to his reputation, the Radio York commentators have a new hero and the manager says he is coming through all in a fifteen minute show of old style defending at its best.

Bobby came on for last ten minutes at 1-1 and first thing got held down and out jumped for Chesterfields 2nd and winning goal.
Played ok the rest of his short stay but unfortunate when a big lad used him as leverage to bag the winner.
Great for Will to bag some goals, and Kyle Hurst was a starter and subbed tactically on 70 minutes, both Harrogate and Gateshead are expected to struggle this season but have started better than expected and give everything every match and the same with Peterborough Sports who lost at Scarborough 3-1 who are one of the smaller sides in the national League North but compete well.
All the sides are competing against teams with much bigger budgets in the leagues they play in, and non league football is like the premiership there are wide differences in the playing staff wages between the haves and have nots.

What a game down at Huish Park. Yeovil 3-0 up at HT. Gateshead have won 4-3 in 98th minute.

Hurst got 1 and Flint was subbed after 80 odd minutes.

Saw a Gateshead fan was on the 0620 train from Northallerton this morning and gets home gone 12 tonight. Well worth the trip!

Stayed down there over the weekend and travelled to the West Country after the game Saturday, quite an experience for a 19 year old and 170 minutes of game time.
Well done Will and Gateshead having a great weekend away.

Josh Sims got one for Yeovil too, obviously not as important as Hurst/Flint's performances.

I watched it, yes I'm bored.
What a game of two halves, Yeovil pressed high & Gateshead couldn't get out first half, Josh Sims got the first, had a big hand in the third & was generally a real handful. Keeper gifted them the first, trying to play out, & the second he should have saved too, a powerful shot but right in the middle of the goal, he was sunbed at ht. Flint worked hard, Kyle, out on the right wing, barely saw the ball.
Second half was all Gateshead, nice finish from Kyle from the edge of the box to get them going. He played more central second half, then on the left as the subs were made, he had a good effect on the game, as well as his goal he made some good runs & put some decent balls into the box.

Positive reports on our boys after 2 tough games. Good to see them settling in well.

Yeah, was tempted with the Scunny game but opted for Gateshead once I'd seen the line up.
Yeovil fans had enough of the manager, they've thrown a few leads away apparently, starting end of last season.

Aye I had a gander at their twitter. Looks to me his names mud at the moment! Shame about Truro losing in 93rd minute as well. Yet to register a point. Poor buggers.

Peterborough Sports won away at Marine yesterday 1-0, I don’t if Sam Straughan -Brown played or not, but I do know that a certain on loan Barnsley player scored, Bayley McCann, and if you have to ask, the answer is yes

Hurst scored 2 and was involved in their third, consequently getting the motm award.

Started and got through full 90 minutes. They lost but only 1-0. Hope he can keep his place.

Gateshead got hammered 5-0 today. Hurst started and played through to 83rd minute. Flint was on bench and brought on immediately after their third, in the 64th minute.

Asked for some feedback on Bobby via Harrogate twitter. A chap has come back with this

“ Probably our best player yesterday. Did his job well and put in some very decent tackles… don’t know how he didn’t get MOTM”

Good stuff!
