Sad Capital

Yesterday's loss means it's now eight and a half years since we won a league game in front of away fans in London.

Since beating Orient 4-1 away in March 2017 our record in the league in London has been...
Won 1 (3-1 at Charlton during the Covid season*)
Drawn 4
Lost 12

Add in cup games and our record in London since March 2017 is...
Won 3
Drawn 5
Lost 15

And one of those wins was the play-off semi-final that was ultimately a loss on penalties.

(*As I was doing commentary on that game, I'm currently the only Rovers fan to have seen us win in London this decade)

Does the geography of it matter that much? It doesn't to me, I just want the team to be performing better no matter who we play.

Well, no... of course not... just thought it was an interesting statistical quirk.

We are the new Newcastle and don't Leeds have something similar?

Love the only fan to have seen us win in London stat!

Eh thats dismal stuff Viva.
That hot sizzling day in North East London when Leopold banged a couple in to add to Greggs opener seems a very, very long time ago...

I've not watched Rovers all that much in London, Glen, but when I have, I'm a bloody jinx. Five times altogether, and never seen them win.

1969 Fulham; drew 1-1.

1975 Spurs; lost 7-2.

2017 Arsenal; lost 1-0.

2018 Charlton; lost 2-0.

2025 Leyton Orient; lost 4-0.

By the way, I remember your commentary on the win at Charlton during the Covid year. It was very good.

Only win in London that really meant something was on 27.04.13. I was there with my lad.

I remember a particularly good one in 2008

I was at the play off 3-2 win aet.
It was technically a victory apart from the penalty shootout.
Yeah, I know we should be only be talking about league games but I keep seeing cup matches being mentioned so I thought I could get away with it.

What about the one we were winning easily at Charlton till the rain wiped out the game.
Doesn't count in the official stats and then we lost when it was replayed.

That was much earlier... in August 2013.

Disgraceful that the result didn’t count but Keegan sending off did
