Doesn’t appear a happy bunny at Lincoln. He was substituted at 65 minutes at their 1-0 defeat at Leyton Orient. I think we should make an audacious bid for him in the January transfer window. He is what we need, for the team to perform at its best. We saw that last season. I don’t think he feels loved at Lincoln, whereas he was when he was here last season. He is the missing piece in our jigsaw.

It might be unpopular but from what i have seen of Street this season he would improve us yes (but that wouldn't take alot with our current strikers) however not that much that he is worth going out and sending stupid money on. Alot think he will solve all our problems I don't think he will, we need more than one across the squad.

Hes a very good league 2 strikers no doubt but is he a very good league 1 striker? Im not so sure.

i saw him play at Harrogate in the EFL cup, he was Lincolns stand out player playing wide right a lot of the game, even put some great crosses into the box, and not used anything like in the positions we used him in.
I was very impressed that night as he looked a better all round footballer than the striker we played him as, and he was great for us, being more than one dimensional, that's talent.

I’m fairly sure he’s as good as our fans think he is. As we’ve seen with TLT, judging a player over just a few months is folly!

4 Goals in 28 games only 1 in the league for the Imps

4goals but from wide positions!

He’d be worth every penny playing down the middle for us. No question in my mind.

Chances are we’ll not even consider it, as we just don’t bid big money for players, even though they might make a big difference.

Just out of curiosity, just how much do you think a sizeable offer for street would be for Lincoln to except

Well they turned down £1m for him in the summer.

Strikers of his profile are both in demand and rare, hence the high price.

I think it would be a risk for a club like Rovers to chuck money at Lincoln for Street. I don't think Terry would get a return in that investment. The task for McCann is to find the next Street and then the Street after that. He's been pretty good at that up to now, let's see what January brings.

What a ridiculous assumption to make? He's playing regularly and getting 75+ minutes most weeks just cause he's been subbed once when they are losing doesnt mean he's unhappy? Suppose you think Gibson is unhappy here and wants out do you? Lincoln fans love him there I'm pretty certain he isn't unhappy there because of one game    :byebye: :byebye:

Street did well for us in League 2 but defences are better in League 1. There is no guarantee he would be as effective.

We certainly need another outlet up top, though.

Promoted....  Please no. In a couple of seasons maybe. We're nowhere near ready for the Championship without a soulless injection of cash that would likely end up down a drain.

Why, what's going to happen in a couple of seasons? Someone coming in with a magic money tree? Will Terry still be here in his mid-eighties?

We need to get our fingers out in January. Especially after the atrocious forward recruitment in the summer.

What about Kemar Roofe?, a free agent, has scored goals wherever he’s been. Thirty two years old. He would be a good signing for two or three years. On another note Conor Washington dropping down to play for Matlock at thirty three, that’s some signing for them.

Joshua Gilavogui wouldn’t be a bad signing, ex Leeds defensive midfielder, knocking on a bit at thirty four but could do a job for us at this level.
Some really good players available on free transfers.

Signing players well past their best isn’t a sustainable model is it. Look at the record of the players we’ve signed recently in their 30s.

Actually quite a few senior players that we signed and then fairly quickly retired - Richard Naylor, Lee Tomlin and Kevin Horlock spring to mind.

In fact Lee Tomlin played a dozen or so games a couple of months after allegedly retiring - for Ilkeston and Harborough and is now coaching at Morecambe.

If ever there was a league table of clubs who make the best recruiting decisions I doubt Rovers would be nearer the top of the table than the bottom. Of the successes, Darren Ferguson probably had the best eye for talent when he was here and he’s proved that over the years with Peterborough too. Otherwise it was those managers who were successful in getting us promoted to the Championship like Saunders and SOD.

Here’s a name to throw into the hat to try for in January or maybe at the end of season, and might have more of a connection to Doncaster than most, he’s not playing full matches for his present club, Jerry Yates at Luton

The issue there is that they paid over a million for him in August and he will be on big money.
