Is it true he wasn't going to sign until they took him down silver street? Always wondered if that urban legend was true, I know he liked the occasional cold beverage to say the least.

Fabulous player. I remember him having to play in a mask after he'd had a tonking in town whilst p*ssed up.

No idea who was doing our recruitment the second half of the Dickov Championship season but to give us a chance of staying up we signed Tamas, Méïté, Neill and Sharp in the January window. How did we get them over the line?

And he still f**ked it up.  The biggest collapse possible and Dickov should have gone then.

We only needed a single point after the Wednesday game I think and had seven chances at it.

Can you remember the Romanian chap who took an interest in us after Tamas signed? Sure he came over for a game but ended up in hospital. Pretty sure someone on here went to visit him. Hope he’s well.

Because we had the biggest injury crisis in our history. We used 31 different players than season. Only one made more than 36 starts. Only 9 made more than 25.

Tamas was with us for 21 games. He missed 7 with injury (read: "got his head kicked in"). Neill was brought in as a replacement for the last 11 games. He missed 6 with injury.

We needed a witch doctor more than a new manager, and even that might not have stopped us from being cheated out of the Championship.

That penalty decision at Leicester in the last match certainly summed up what happened to us that season.

The foul was outside the box for the penalty.

The referees on both occasions had a better view than me & even I could see both were outside the area!

Leicester fans leaving the stadium hadn’t realised that 1-0 defeat had seen us relegated & were ‘gutted’ for us. Said we deserved a point at least on our performance there.

How we couldn’t scrape a single point in the final seven games is still beyond me.

I said at the time of his sacking that Dickov would never manage another English League club again. No comfort to me that I’ve proved to be right since.

Everything there is correct, J, apart from the Wednesday game. It was Leeds; bloody great win as well, with the famous 28 pass Billy goal.

Didn’t we get a point from a 0-0 draw with Millwall which was our only point in the last 7 games.
.
I ‘m sure that as we left Elland Road I said the we only needed 3 points from the last 7 games with four of them at home.

So it was. I must have remembered the 1-0(?) over them earlier in the season and a lad I know who follows them said we were probably as good as safe now.

If only.

We were a goal up at home to Birmingham with six games to go, at that moment we were safe as Birmingham couldn't catch us, we then lost it 1-3, and only got the one point from the next 5 games.
That win against Leeds was also the 4th win in the previous 6, to then get 1 point from the last 6 was unbelievable.

1-0 is correct. Federico Macheda.

Happy days.

Copps at right back that game. James Husband caught in possession and the two breaks down their left wing targeting Copps.. Coasting at 1-0 and they brought that Zigic on.

Yep.

We played a half fit Wellens against Bolton and I think he came off quite early on when it was obvious he was miles off it.
