Get Darren Moore in, make sure he’s there before the Vertu game.

You beat me to it Reg. Yes get Darren in he’ll then give Alfie away and we could be in luck.

Interestingly Alfie May has an almost identical goals per minute ratio to Brandon Hanlan in League One this season - May a goal every 302.8 minutes and Hanlan one every 303.7.

Of his 24 appearances, May has started 75pc of them. While Hanlan has started only 50pc of his games. Arguably that's a more impressive return for Hanlan given he has had such a bit part to play, comparatively.

May has been played out of position for quite a few of those minutes.

Think Hanlan has been played out of position for almost all of his minutes. He is so much better coming in from wider. Two periods of very good play yesterday including the near penalty. Francis allows Hanlan to not be forced to play pointlessly down the middle.

and this is why May had to play bits and pieces.
early Jan this happened.

Huddersfield Town loanee Leo Castledine has been recalled by parent club Chelsea in order to sign for Championship outfit Middlesbrough on a permanent deal.

The attacking midfielder impressed during his stay with Town, netting 12 goals and providing five assists in 27 appearances for the Terriers.

“Signed on a season-long agreement in the summer, Chelsea retained the right to recall Castledine within a specific window of the month. In discussions with the Premier League side, they confirmed that unless a significant bid for a permanent transfer was received, the player would remain with Town as planned.

and i am right peeved off  -- how the hell could they concede 3 against Burton  - yes he had to go -

I still believe they can make the top 3 along with Stockport

I think you hit nail on the head , but surly McCann has either not appreciated Hanlan ability as a wide playing striker or has stuck to a selection of certain players ie Mols / Gibson/ Middleton , always to playing  regardless of effect in the game . Tactics should change to counter the oppositions tactics , but all too often we are predictable in our set up  . Now we have more choices upfront playing player in the best position has to be what gets results . Hanlan must be frustrated at firstly not holding  a starting place  in the first team from the outset but now there’s competition it’s even more important that he’s played where he can do the most damage either from scoring or assisting.

Personally I don’t think it matters where you play Hanlan, he’s just not good enough for L1.

He need to be playing regularly to get his physical presence felt on the pitch . We are too lightweight as a team upfront . Billy proves  this every time HE plays , he gets tripped pulled and thrown all over but just takes it , Hanlan is a bigger animal and useful player to have when things are physical. We rely on too many loans before now we’ve got choices and Hanlan is for me a big gun to put in when you want to soften the centre back . McCann had go no excuses where outcomes / results are concerned now and it’s only going to come down to tactics on who to play and when to deploy them . Hanlan is weapon imo !!

I don't find GM surly at all. I think he's quite affable. LOL.

Are Huddersfield going to get the new manager bounce, just when we have a couple of games against them on the horizon.

We owe them one after dominating them at their place, when our early season form was good. Hopefully we'll be back to that level.

Yes, we certainly should have had that game virtually won by half time.
The Huddersfield fans I spoke to after the game were very impressed by our play and agreed that they were fortunate to win.

Especially when thrown from the parapet at those storming the castle gate.

Could take half a dozen out if aimed correctly.
