We needed a centre half but we can't get one of them the list Grant had must be torn up by now.
If is  a bad hamstring then that will be really disappointing

Any news on Frankie’s hamstring? A concern because we got him in due to centre forward position being an issue.

Yeah, I feel for the kid, and hope he recovers quickly.

However, IMO his absence won't impact our chances of getting something on Saturday.

Stick to Rugby mate ! You need to be able to discern a pass forward from a forward pass and a coach from a Prefect .

Much better than that other tripe you posted. well done mate

I don't think there's been any updates on his injury yet so we'll probably have to wait for McCann's prematch interview.

Viewing the fixtures to the end of the season, we have a run of games coming up where it’s vital we pick up wins.
Starting with this one would give the players a real confidence boost, particularly after the last couple of games.

McCann says every player has trained today including Ben Close and
Sean Grehan is back and Francis Okoronkwo’s hamstring injury wasn’t serious, so he’s trained as well. From Andy Giddings on X

Although the fixtures are a fairly equal mix of top half and bottom half teams, most of the top half teams are at home.

Even if we gat another centre half I would play him alongside Bailey, or was ie a coincidence we kept a clean sheet and won a game with him in the central defensive position.
If the new central defender has not got pace, then we will be no further on than the last few months.
We desperately need some pace at the back to compete at this level with attackers much more mobile and willing to take defenders on and isolate them into a one on one situation their lack of pace cannot cope with.

I agree with you Selby, play Bailey at CH with another dominant CH and we won’t have an issue staying up, I mean it’s not going to stop him popping up and scoring

Wigan Athletic have won each of their last seven league games against Rovers, their longest current winning streak against any side.

Not expecting a classic today.
But dont care as lkng as we take the 3 points.

Us and wigan are among the lowest scorers this season with wigan also being up aming the best defences in the league.

Can see it being a boring game with shots on goal few and far between. But i dont care as long as 1 of ours goes over that goal line

Seems Hanlan is everyone's third choice striker all of a sudden. Not sure why. Lad from Lincoln has done nothing in both games. Not writing him off, just not sure what he's done to be number 1 choice. Then Sharp scores against a league 2 B team and everyone wants him back in despite doing nothing in the league at all.

Hanlan with Molyneux and Adelakun for me. Ideally get Gibson in over Clifton.

I think Hanlan should be first choice. Frankie needs to prove he’s got enough to start, yet to do that, admittedly in tough circumstances.

Agreed I'm trying to think of a game where Hanlan has been poor in since returning to the side

Can people not remember Billy’s last league start? Stockport at home. Looked completely out of his depth.

I’m not sure how many actual bad games Hanlan has had, he was just slaughtered for not being Rob Street.
We certainly look more effective with him in the side, possibly because they now have an understanding of what each needs, and I expect this will also come for Frankie in time.

I still think will Hanlan he is now mentally fit, he didn’t look to sure or confident in his own fitness at the start of this season, and was constantly limping or rubbing his leg, that’s gone.

The problem with Hanlan is that we continue to play a game that in no way appeals to his strengths. He is totally wasted if we continue to shove long balls up to him and expect him to win them with his back to goal. Not going to happen. That is clearly more the game of our man Francis. If he is fit, I would start Francis through the middle and Hanlan out wide. That's a much better use of resources.

I don’t know much or haven’t seen much of Frankie, but on his first start it didn’t look his game either, and he looked a bit p!$$ed off with it.

If we are willing to start putting balls in front of Hanlan then he's going to be a threat. If he does start through the middle, watch how many balls are played to him in this way. Take a note. Will be somewhere between 0 and 1.

Same XI as last week. Francis starts through the middle. Hanlan and Sharp on the bench.

Against Cardiff we put balls in behind them at will and he troubled them in behind. That was the kind of clarity in the final third we need. I often think it’s not a personnel issue as much as a clarity/ game-plan issue.

Their strike partnership could be dangerous.

Saydee very strong physically will drop deeper to link play then Joe Taylor very quick will run behind and be their main goal threat.

You’d bench Moly or Haks?
