Why would it be? So far he’s proving a good player to have in the squad.

He’s 33 and would want 2 years. He’s looked ok but as there was when we signed him, there are much better options out there. We are desperate for centre halves that can pass. Bring me a few of them instead.

Names...?

Have to pay to get names out of me.

If we can’t compile a list of 10 fully functioning L1 defenders of a good age at good value, it’s time to give up. We don’t need to be giving players contracts into their 35th year. Just no value in it and too much risk.

Do you think we could realistically sign 2 or 3 league one high quality ball playing CB’s at the peak of their careers.?

Nowt wrong with having one CB a bit older and experienced to mentor the other players.

Would be a concern if we had 3 in the 33-35 age group, but one seems ok..

You sign high quality, ball playing centre halves that other clubs don’t realise are high quality ball playing centre halves. That’s the art of being good at recruitment. May sound weird but it’s certainly possible.

There are a lot of players out there that have really positive impacts on the teams they play for but it isn’t massively obvious how good they are. Sometimes not particularly obvious even to their managers, Olowu an ok example of that.

Being a team sport, team mates have a huge impact on an individuals game. Find the ones that are being made to look ordinary by their team mates. Everyone can see the ones that look good on the surface, need to be a bit smarter than that.

It goes both ways. People get excited over signings before seeing them too. Always mental when people get arse on over fans having opinions on signings before seeing them. Hypocrites those who slag them.

On Hanlan. My god is he slow. Did his job very well yesterday and he should always start when Frankie isn’t fit.

Hanlan might be a few things but he’s certainly not slow.

He’s looked it every time i’ve seen him this season.
