Not really excited by this signing but I'll still get behind him .

Spoke to two county fans who both said the same.... A good player and don't know why we released him.

I for one will base my judgment on how he performs for us, particularly games where I can see him live.

I hope he does well and makes us more difficult for the opposition to get soft goals.

I'm hoping for a solid game at the back and a last minute winner from Neill....

Think Bradford bought him didn’t they for undisclosed fee

Byrne starts tonight alongside McGrath. Bailey back in midfield. No Pearson or Grehan on bench.

Can I just say that McGrath has had a good game tonight... fully on it and fully at it... No showboating just conventional defending.. and my MotM

Byrne was constantly talking to McGrath, Senior and Sterry all game.

Looked like he’d been with us all. Season

Filo could have played in the back four tonight with his pipe and slippers on. They were abysmal. One missed header in the first half but apart from that he didn’t put a foot wrong. They didn’t have a shot in anger.

Many wanted him replacing McGrath and keeping Bails at the back. Well I'm glad to say Grant knows best!

Didn't put a foot wrong. Granted against a poor team, but we've played a lot of poor teams this season and still managed to ship goals. Clean sheet on your debut, can't ask any more.

I think it’s worth considering that the teams he has found it difficult to break into have been teams on the up with the resources to sign high quality players thus lots of competition. Also the fact that both Stockport and Bradford signed him shows they saw something in him!

We finished above Bradford last season. Doing the double over them in the process. Now we’re signing their deadwood to save us.

Players above him in the pecking order signed this season are Joe Wright and Curtis Tilt. Nothing that would have been out of our reach, especially Tilt who I don’t rate.

Well, he was quality tonight, and not only that he made everyone around him look more solid too.
Maybe next time folk will wait until they’ve seen the chap play before they write paragraphs and paragraphs of negative drivel

He was absolutely fine tonight and fair play to him. Wasn't tested at all tho. Bigger tests to come but a nice start for him.

I didn't get to watch the game online tonight, but happy to hear he did well.

Let's not be too critical if us fans that were disappointed with the loan signing, afterall we are only wanting our club to do well.

Hope he has an Indian summer with us.

He was playing against probably the best striker in the division tonight, he didn’t get a kick

I’m glad it went well tonight like yourself dickos.

I’m still sceptical though as it’s only one game and I have every right to have that opinion.

I hope he proves me wrong so you can continue to act high and mighty. That would be great!

We didn’t chase more goals after the third went in and were organised at the back, nothing flashy just proper solid defending. McCann also didn’t make mass subs which kept our shape better. Yes, Orient were woeful but we were far better organised and if we’d done that on Saturday we would have won that too.

Fine to have the opinion, but the reaction not just by you was massively over the top, we’ve got 7 points from 9, should be 9 from 9,
I think every performance since the Blackpool game has been very good

Dream debut for the lad, not to testing and nicely settled in with an upturn in his partner to boot.

If you could ask for the perfect game to get you off and running this was it, nice to see we did today what we should have done on sat and settle the game down to suit us, like a training match for the last 30 mins but it demonstrated that we can dig in and protect out lead.

Good to see some lessons learnt and acted upon from all the squad, we are now looking good offensively and the clean sheet will give the defence some confidence.

Thought Francis kept at it right up to his departure, on another day he could have had a couple, coming on nicely.

The move for OB's second goal was a work of art.

Lot of people totally lost the plot yesterday. Absolutely lost it. The lad may have better games and may have poorer games, but read back this thread with a clear head. People need to get real.
