That hurt.

But I’ve driven home, had a very nice dinner with a few glasses of wine and I’m putting it behind me now.

Yes, we were well beaten by an excellent team but we contributed to making them look good.

I wasn’t too worried at half time. We were in the game and certainly weren’t outclassed and if Clifton and Hanlan had done a bit better with their chances we could even have been in front.

Second half ….. I’m trying to forget it.

A bad day at the office but let’s go again on Tuesday and book a trip to Wembley.

PS: Ben Close was brilliant when he came on.
A proper footballer.

Everyone is criticising the team for the defending, which I agree was pathetic.
However we did start the game well and were dealing with what is a very good team.
During this time we had two fantastic chances, Hanlan and Clifton and both should have scored, get these and we’re 2-0 up, so different game!
We cannot keep not putting chances like that into the back of the net.

Clifton certainly should have hit the target at the very least but to criticise Hanlan for his goal attempt is harsh to say the least.  He broke well with pace to get to the ball and just as he was about to pull the trigger was barged in the back by the chasing defender but still managed to hit a fierce shot on target but the keeper got lucky getting in the way.  Can't ask for more than that.

Cardiff City submit 2024/25 accounts, a season where they finished 24th in Championship:

Whilst some of our weaknesses were laid bare, I couldn't help admiring the serious talent of Cardiffs Dylan Lawlor and the Colwill brothers.

I heard and seen the brothers on the TV but to see them up close made me appreciate alot about the art of football played in the right way.

To see a 20 year old centre half with that skill, desire and awareness was something else and puts into context any debates about McGrath and Faulkener, although Lawlor is an exceptional talent who is likely to grace the top levels of the game.

All three of them under 23 and products of the Cardiff academy.

The keeper didn’t touch the ball.
It deflected over the bar off a defender.

Yes that's correct, Hound.  I only saw the goal the once and it looked like it hit the keeper.  Nevertheless, the point stands, criticising Hanlan for not scoring there was harsh.  Great defensive block.

From my spot in the south stand it looked like Hanlan had blazed the ball over the bar so I get that you didn’t see the ball hit the defender.
It was a great block but it hasn’t stopped people having a go at him (Hanlan) for not scoring.
Even after it was shown on the big screen people around me (there are a couple of blokes behind me who criticise his every move and touch) who were having a pop at him.

It wasn't a sitter by any means plus I think he took an extra stride to steady himself whereas top strikers would be hitting it early, that stride earlier, so the defender (Lawlor again!) can't get the block plus the keeper can't get set. The risk of course is it goes high and wide.

The 'easier' chance was Cliftons although it came quite quickly at him.

I have been saying for quite a while that if Clifton could improve his finishing he would be on the shopping lists of plenty of clubs.
He is such a hardworking and good quality player for us.

I can't believe that Sterry seems to be getting away with that absolute brain fart for their fourth. That could be the goal that sends us down. Five seconds left to play just f**king launch it.

Funny how people have a go not knowing the facts, yet wierdly still have a go when they do.

He did well to still be on his feet, showed pace with the ball, strength by holding off 2 defenders close by. Got a shot off on target, then great defending.

Now if one of our defenders had done that, it would have been a great block and nothing about the forward.

Strange isnt it.
